In a swift and notable real estate transaction, Australian actress Miranda Otto, renowned for her portrayal of Éowyn in The Lord of the Rings film series, has sold her Spanish-style Los Angeles home for $2.7 million, just 10 days after listing it.

The sale reflects both the desirability of the property and Otto’s star power.

Purchased in the winter of 2017 for $2.2 million, the home is located in the sought-after Beverly Grove/West Hollywood neighbourhood, indicating a profitable turn for Otto over her six-year ownership, according to the Robb Report.

The property, a testament to 1920s architecture, has been meticulously updated to combine modern luxury with classic charm.

It features a distinctive bright red front door, three bedrooms, and as many bathrooms across 185sq m of living space.

The home is finished with dark hardwood floors, high ceilings, arched doorways, and French windows and doors, enhancing its elegant appeal.

Notable for its sophisticated design, the residence offers a living room with a fireplace, a formal dining room, and a gourmet kitchen equipped with Viking appliances, alongside a cozy breakfast nook that doubles as office space.

The master suite is a highlight, offering a fireplace, a spacious walk-in closet, and a luxurious marble bathroom with dual vanities, a soaking tub, and a glass-encased shower.

The property’s exterior is equally impressive, featuring landscaped grounds, a swimming pool, and an alfresco dining area with a built-in barbecue, perfect for entertaining.

Otto’s decision to sell comes after expressing a desire to return to Australia, following her daughter’s completion of school in the US.

The actress, a Brisbane native with a rich family background in showbiz, has had a distinguished career in film and television, both in Australia and internationally.

The sale was managed by Clifford and Pamela Rowe of Compass, with the property attracting significant interest, highlighting the continued allure of homes owned by celebrities in prime locations.
