When the media first started talking about the explosion of the Tesla Cybertruck in Las Vegas, they termed it a “fire” in an electric vehicle.
But from the start, it was an explosion, not just a fire. It was called into the police because people were hearing blasts.

BREAKING: Tesla Cybertruck Explodes Outside Las Vegas Trump Tower
Now, after a further briefing by the authorities in Las Vegas, we are getting more information. First, we can thank the great construction of the vehicle for why more people weren’t hurt or hurt more severely. The police said most of the force of the explosion went up rather than out and toward the people and the hotel.
NEWS: Law enforcement officials said the Cybertruck actually helped contain the explosion.
“The fact that this was a Cybertruck really limited the damage that occurred. It had most of the blast go up through the truck and out. The front glass doors at the Trump hotel were not… pic.twitter.com/70tZ8jHm4p

So the benefit of a well-made vehicle from Tesla.
But there’s more.
One of the law enforcement officials said they knew immediately that they had “a much larger event than simply a vehicle fire.” Then he explained what they found in the back of the vehicle, including fuel canisters and large firework mortars.
Latest from the Las Vegas sheriff:
– The remains of the person in the Cybertruck have not yet been removed and examined.
– The truck contained gasoline and camp fuel canisters and large firework mortars.

Wow, that’s a ton of stuff to create a huge explosion; they’re truly lucky there weren’t more people hurt more severely.
The official said there was a “name” floating out there, but he wasn’t going to confirm anything yet. They said they traced the truck, which was rented in Colorado.
The FBI official gave an interesting take. They’ve already said they’re investigating it as a possible terrorist attack. The mortars and gas canisters might be a good indication of that.
At the latest press conference, the FBI representative says their priority is to identify a suspect and then to determine if this qualifies as an act of “terrorism.” He says they believe it was an “isolated incident” and there are not “a bunch of folks out there supporting this.” pic.twitter.com/Rbrjt0EcpA

He said they were looking to see if they had the proper identification of the suspect. He said they’re still looking into determining if it’s terrorism, adding that he believed it was an isolated incident and didn’t think there was any other danger to the community.
Elon Musk also has a team looking into it, and he has already revealed that it was from the fireworks/bomb, not a malfunction.
But seeing the sheer amount of stuff in the vehicle is something else, and someone obviously meant to do a lot of damage.
