As my colleague Bonchie reported, the Biden-Harris administration chose on Thursday to drop its April 2023 rule changes to Title IX, which sought to force schools to allow biological boys into girls’ sports. The rule would have outlawed state bans on participation in women’s sports based on biology, and penalize these states by withholding funding and even subject them to criminal penalties.
In April 2023, Biden’s handlers submitted a change to Title IX regulations that would have effectively prevented states from banning males from competing in women’s sports. Sane jurisdictions that worked to protect women’s safety and the fairness of single-sex athletic events would have been overruled by new federal regulations.
That proposal is now dead in the water.
Per a news release on Friday afternoon, the Department of Education has withdrawn its rule changes pertaining to “gender identity” in athletics.
After 18 months, the Biden administration finally comes to their senses on Title IX’s application to sports! All it took was 130K angry comments, consistent polling that showed a widening majority opposed to their position, and losing a national election. https://t.co/kqWrQ1FWow

In its withdrawal document, the ED claimed,
“In light of the comments received and those various pending court cases, the Department has determined not to regulate on this issue at this time. Therefore, the Department hereby withdraws the Athletics [notice of proposed rulemaking] and terminates this rulemaking proceeding.”
The last Biden-Harris administration plea to allow some of the provisions of their revised Title IX to be enforced was slapped back by the U.S. Supreme Court, and with half the country (25 states) suing them, they were already fighting a long, uphill battle.
BIDEN WITHDRAWS UNFAIR TITLE IX RULE!
“I appreciate that this flawed rule is being pulled back—it never should have been proposed in the first place. But there is still egg on your face, Mr. President.”

Education and the Workforce Committee Chairwoman Virginia Foxx further stated:
Simply put, the attack the Biden-Harris administration unleashed on women and women’s sport is still underway and I look forward to working with the Trump administration and my Republican colleagues to fight to protect women’s sports.
Had President-elect Donald Trump not won, this definitely would not be happening. With a Trump-Vance administration comes a promised clean-out of not just the Department of Education, but the Department of Justice (DOJ). Which means these activist attacks against the American people via regulation and lawfare will hopefully cease.
Then you have the Senate dissection of NCAA President Charlie Baker, who was simply tapped to continue this activist, trans athlete agenda. Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA), in particular, had Baker crawling on all fours and begging for momma. Baker’s testimony clearly reflected the lack of reasoning and common sense in this campaign to punish women, for the sake of a small percentage of men.
Finally, the early December SCOTUS oral arguments in U.S. v. Skrmetti, the case which challenges Tennessee’s right to ban “gender-affirming care,” were also revelatory. While it’s difficult to read the SCOTUS tea leaves these days, what the arguments and testimony showed was that anyone advocating and co-signing the mutilation of children for any reason need to have their head examined.
This is being further affirmed by other countries, including Britain and Italy, which are blocking the use of puberty blockers for minors, and appear to be walking back from the transgender kids nonsense.
Sanity was apparently on the ballot, and thankfully, sanity won. Hopefully, one of President Trump’s executive orders will be rescinding Biden’s revised Title IX completely and restoring the original Title IX law back into place.
