Sheffield United team-mates Vinicius Souza and Jack Robinson have been spoken to after their on-field clash during the defeat at Wolves with Chris Wilder keen to move on from the incident.

The two players had a heated exchange in the first-half of the Premier League game at Molineux shortly after Pablo Sarabia had put the home side 1-0 up.

Both appeared to shove each other with midfielder Souza appearing to lash out with his right arm before team-mates stepped in and defused the situation.

The incident was looked at by the video assistant referee (VAR) but no further action was taken against either player.

“That happens at every club up and down the country three or four times a year,” Wilder said after the game. “Of course you can’t condone it, it has to stay at a level, we have a responsibility to the young kids out there playing.

“That happens behind closed doors at every level, at Man City and the bottom of League Two. You don’t want to see it but it does. VAR spotted it and for me you just move on pretty quickly.

“They were told about their responsibilities at half-time. We talked to the boys and they are fine and cool. No action at all will be taken against Vini and Jack. It’s all been sorted.”

Sarabia’s first-half header proved to be the only goal of the game with the defeat a 19th of the season for Wilder’s side.

The result leaves Sheffield United bottom of the table, eight points from safety.

They return to action against Arsenal on Monday, March 4.
