Harry Kane will report for international duty with England despite picking up an ankle injury playing for Bayern Munich on Saturday.

The England captain, 30, collided with a goalpost late on in the 5-2 Bundesliga win over Darmstadt.

He was immediately withdrawn from the game with Thomas Tuchel later revealing he was treating the issue with ice with the head coach hoping for “nothing major”.

Kane was selected as part of Gareth Southgate’s squad for the friendlies with Brazil and Belgium earlier this week and Bayern confirmed on Sunday that he would travel back to England as planned.

The club will remain in contact as he undergoes further assessment from his national team’s medical staff.

Kane continued his impressive first season in Germany in Saturday’s game with a 31st league goal of the season, more than any player has scored in a debut campaign in the Bundesliga.

That mark is also a personal best for Kane who had never before netted more than 30 in a league campaign for former club Tottenham Hotspur.

England host Brazil on Saturday before welcoming Belgium to Wembley Stadium on the following Tuesday.

Bayern return to action following the international break against rivals Borussia Dortmund on March 30.
