Michael Shellenberger and Alex Gutentag are out with a fascinating new report on Public about new information in the Jan. 6 bomb case.
We’ve written before about some of the interesting aspects of the bombs including questions about whether they would even have gone off, given they had one-hour kitchen timers, if they were planted the night before. But, the new report notes a surveillance video that Julie Kelly has seen showing a handler and a dog sweeping the DNC premises a few hours before the bomb there was found. So how could they not have discovered it?
But when it was found, allegedly by a Capitol Police officer, the Secret Service seemed to not react with alarm to it.

The RNC bomb also has a lot of questions, one of them being whether it was really an “RNC” bomb, as our sister site Townhall explains, citing the Public report.
According to an experienced security analyst who has come forward with a report for members of Congress, the FBI might be misrepresenting the location of the alleged bomb.
“The FBI map displays the pipe bomb’s location near the southern corner of the Capitol Hill Club,” but in reality, the source says, “the device was closer to the opposite side of the building.” [….]
But now, the anonymous security expert has created a series of highly detailed illustrations of the misleading mapping. The FBI map “misrepresents the dimensions of the RNC and Capitol Hill Club buildings, making it appear the bomb was closer to the RNC,” notes the expert. [….]
“The map’s inaccuracies may be sloppiness on the part of the FBI,” he told Public, “Or it may have been intentional to support the FBI’s position that the bomber’s target was the RNC and not the Capitol Hill Club.”
The expert said the bomber didn’t go around the RNC building. So why is it a “RNC bomb” rather than a “Capitol Hill Club” bomb?
Then there are the deleted Secret Service texts.
The FBI claims that cell phone data that would have helped it to find the bomber was corrupted. The Secret Service claims that all the text messages of its agents from January 6 were deleted, which independent experts have said is “highly unusual,” “not something any other organization would ever do,” and “ludicrous.”
Oh, and let’s not forget how they haven’t released the video that they would have of the planting of either of the bombs, although they’ve shown the bomber walking through the alley where the “RNC bomb” was planted and sitting at the bench near where the DNC bomb was planted.
The security expert also had questions about the finding of the “RNC bomb” by Karlin Younger. At the time, Younger worked for a security contractor for the FBI, FirstNet, according to the report. FirstNet has representatives of the US government on its board now including Attorney General Merrick Garland and DHS head Alejandro Mayorkas.
The security expert said that Younger was unrealistically calm, “Younger never expressed any worry.”
In a news article, Younger said, “I saw a tangle of wires. I looked closer and saw a six-inch pipe capped on both ends. Then I saw a timer that was stuck on the number 20. It was a radial dial. Was it 20 seconds ticking town? Thankfully, it was 20 minutes showing on the dial.”
The security analyst had questions about her behavior.
“One would think, just suspecting the object might be a bomb would be sufficient to cause her to step away from the device,” notes the security expert. But this didn’t happen. Instead, Younger leaned into the bomb so she could read the dial on the timer. It pointed to 20.”
The expert also questioned how she walked by it without noticing it three times, but then noticed it.
Younger claims that she first went to the Capitol Hill Club to inform them of the bomb. Nobody was there. She says she then went next door to the RNC building and told a security guard what she had seen.
Younger says a security guard alerted the police and then, while standing outside, she says she heard someone say, over a police radio, “Get to the DNC.” However, notes the security analyst, “this statement was not recorded in the Capitol Police radio traffic.”
Why would that not be recorded if that were true? And why would talking about the DNC be the police’s first reaction? Why would the FBI not release the video of the planting of the bombs, since that’s the critical question here?
Younger didn’t respond to Public’s request for comment.
