Multiple people were shot in Kansas City, Mo., near where the Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade was concluding, and two armed people have been taken into custody, Kansas City police said Wednesday.

Police told those in attendance to evacuate the area after shots were fired west of Union Station, where the parade finished.

Officials cleared the area and released everyone inside Union Station, KCPD said in a statement on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“Anyone nearby needs to leave the area as quickly and safely as possible to facilitate treatment of the shooting victims,” KCPD said. “Please avoid the Union Station parking garage area to allow first responders through.”

The victory parade for Kansas City began at 11 a.m. CT.
