AD PRO Hears…

…a residential building on New York’s Upper East Side, complete with garden, is an apt setting for the 2,300-square-foot House of Matouk, where bed, bath, and table offerings, as well as down, home accessories, and apparel are displayed across two levels. The handiwork of creative director Mindy Matouk and Morgan Wendelborn of WheelhouseNYC, the showroom stars a vast marble shower and a bespoke Egyptian limestone fireplace.

…fine bed linens label Pratesi has brought its collections to a Palm Beach flagship—its sole standalone store in the world—designed by New York’s Studio Monteleone & Associates with travertine flooring, touches of copper, and tufted wool carpets that pull from the Italian label’s butterfly motif.

The Cascade bed and Max nightstand from Studio Qasabian

AD PRO Directory designer Adrienne Qasabian launched her eponymous practice in Sherman Oaks, California, in 2020, tackling such residences as the Mulholland Project, a 1960s abode in the Hollywood Hills. For that midcentury-modern gem, Qasabian also created an assemblage of transportive furniture, including made-to-order items for the primary bedroom that have since spawned a collection available on 1stDibs. The boldly striped linen Cascade bed, vintage hardware-adorned Knot a Dresser, and sprawling blackened oak Q armoire incorporating a vanity are complemented by the shearling-topped Leon ottoman, Maz nightstand accented with hair-on cowhide, and the Lin stool, a patchwork of bleached maple, unlacquered brass, velvet, and wool.

As the founder of her eponymous Houston firm, Alexandra Killion, aka the mastermind behind the designer dollhouse auction Le Petite Maison Charity Gala, often weaves bespoke pieces into her projects. That imaginative streak has now led to AK Collective, her first product range comprising made-to-order case goods, upholstered seating, and accent tables like the stone-topped white oak Tholos chest embellished with circles, the French Riviera-inspired Parea slipper chair, and the subtly curved red oak Calistenes cocktail table. Killion is a vintage buff, and luckily, she’s also sharing such finds as a mesh-doored hutch and Dorothy Draper-style tassel candle holders to help simplify the antiques search.
