TV personality and lifestyle mogul Martha Stewart, along with her daughter, Alexis Stewart, have scooped up a six-bedroom aerie in a TV-famous Upper West Side building. As first reported by Crain’s New York Business, the two recently closed on a unit in the Belnord, a block-long luxury residential building used for exterior shots of the Arconia apartments in Hulu’s comedy-mystery series Only Murders in the Building.

Stewart and her daughter lucked out on the duplex unit, as the duo paid $12.3 million for the swank address despite its original asking price of $18 million and a last listed price of $13.2 million. The approximately 4,600-square-foot abode—and the reimagined Robert A.M. Stern building itself—certainly does not skimp on luxuries. The unit, which sits atop the 12-story edifice, offers views of the Belnord’s courtyard and 87th Street through oversized windows.

A Calacatta gold marble backsplash and countertops make a statement in the kitchen, along with state-of-the-art Gaggenau appliances and a 45-bottle wine refrigerator. All bedrooms come complete with ensuite bathrooms and radiant heated floors. Siberian white slab marble lines the primary bathroom, while Grigio Nicola stone is featured in the others. An outdoor lounge area is situated off of the primary suite and a large terrace faces the courtyard—no doubt a prime spot for the homemaker to play host to family and friends.

Known for its dramatic entrance, the Belnord greets guests with a gilded wrought-iron gate that leads to a vaulted porte cochère decorated with frescoes and arabesques, and then further through to the courtyard, where cars pick up and drop off residents from one of six lobbies. Each lobby is equipped with a 24-hour concierge. Residents have access to a private dining room with a chef’s kitchen, a residents’ lounge, a teen lounge, a children’s lounge, a multi-sport court, and a fitness center.

We can’t say for sure whether the new purchase will function as a pied-à-terre or a full-time residence for Martha, or if she’s simply helping her daughter with a purchase. Whatever her reason for buying a new spot in the city, the 150-acre farm owner has reportedly started spending more time in the Upper West Side neighborhood; folks have spotted Martha requesting thinly sliced prosciutto at Zabar’s, the famed local deli. As a member of the neighborhood association told Curbed, “Once you’re shopping at Zabar’s, you know she must be living in the neighborhood.”
