The Tampa Bay Lightning acquired defenseman Matt Dumba and a 2025 seventh-round pick from the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for a 2027 fifth-round pick, according to league sources. There is no salary retention on Dumba.
Dumba was No. 2 on The Athletic’s latest trade board.
Dumba played the first 10 seasons of his NHL career with the Minnesota Wild after they selected him with the seventh pick in the 2012 draft. After several years of trade rumors and with the Wild in a cap crunch, Dumba left in free agency last summer and signed a one-year, $3.9 million deal with the rebuilding Coyotes.
In 656 career regular-season games, Dumba has 83 goals and 163 assists.
