As RedState previously wrote, the primary process for picking the 2024 presidential nominees for both the Republican and Democrat Parties has started to wind down, after Donald Trump and Joe Biden secured their spots on Mar. 12th.

Two states are holding contests on Saturday for the Democrats, though–Wyoming and Alaska. In the morning, Wyoming held its caucuses, which Pres. Biden won with 93.4 percent, according to Decision Desk HQ (43 percent est. reporting)::

President Biden is the winner of the Wyoming Democratic presidential caucus, Decision Desk HQ has projected.

Biden is already the presumptive nominee of the Democratic Party, having mathematically clinched the nomination last month. His win will add at least most of the state’s 13 pledged delegates available for the winner to his total.

He faced nominal opposition in the contest from author Marianne Williamson and entrepreneur Jason Palmer. Voters could also select an “uncommitted” option on the ballot as some have done in other states.

But Alaska has a different sort of vote planned for later in the day, which the state Democrats had to delay by a week. And there’s little suspense on who will garner the state’s delegates–since Biden is the only candidate left on the ballot:

Alaska Democrats are holding a voice vote for their party-run preference poll at in-person and virtual district meetings.

Biden’s is the lone candidate eligible to receive votes after the other Democrat to qualify, Dean Phillips, suspended his campaign last month. The vote is being held during meetings where other party business is conducted.

The polling was delayed a week. Democrats had planned a ranked vote election by mail on April 6 but those plans changed when only Biden and Phillips qualified for the ballot and when Phillips suspended his run.

This is a developing story. We’ll keep you posted.
