ATHENS, Ga. — Georgia has bumped the salaries of its assistant coaches, including defensive coordinator Glenn Schumann, who will now earn $2 million per year.

Schumann is entering his third season as the main defensive coordinator, having stepped into the role after Dan Lanning left to become Oregon’s head coach. He has drawn interest from NFL teams and Alabama, his alma mater, the past two years, but has remained with Kirby Smart, who brought Schumann to Georgia when he became head coach in 2016.

Among the other raises and new salaries revealed by the university via an open records request:

  • Offensive coordinator Mike Bobo, entering his second year of his second stint as Georgia’s OC, moves up to $1.4 million. Bobo was earning $1 million last year, while still earning money from his Auburn buyout.
  • Defensive line coach Tray Scott’s salary is up to $1.202 million. Last year Scott was among the first known position coaches to hit the $1 million mark.
  • Tight ends coach Todd Hartley received a small raise to $875,000, offensive line coach Stacy Searels up to $775,000 and outside linebackers coach Chidera Uzo-Diribe up to $625,000.

In addition, Georgia receivers coach James Coley will earn $650,000 in what is also his second stint in that job. Coley left South Carolina after only being hired there the previous month.

Josh Crawford, who left Georgia Tech to become Georgia’s running backs coach, will earn $450,000.

Three off-field coaches also received bumps: Scott Sinclair, the strength and conditioning coordinator, is up to $600,000. Kirk Benedict, the special teams coordinator, will now earn $400,000. David Cooper, the director of recruiting relations, will earn $197,000.
