First National Real Estate has highlighted its best performers across the country in its state-based General Excellence and Marketing Awards, with one incredible agent scoring the Number 1 Salesperson of the Year for the seventh time.

At the Queensland GEM Awards, First National Cleveland Director, Ryan McCann, said his seventh win in eight years was very humbling, but it was the team that really allowed it to happen.

“Individual sales are great, but having a team around you with everyone shooting for one goal is certainly the hardest part of it,” Mr McCann said.

“I really appreciate the fact that the office has now won four in a row, which is way beyond what we expected when we started in June 2015 with First National as a new office with no listings, no rentals and just three staff.”

Mr McCann said he put much of his success down to his ability to build a network in the area.

“Redland City, especially Cleveland, is very unique,” he said.

“Around 92 per cent of my business is repeat business or client referrals, I’m very fortunate where I don’t need to do the door knocks and the cold calling.”

First National Cleveland was also declared winner of the Magnificent 7 – No.1 Sales Office of the Year for a fourth consecutive year, while First National Townsville (Aitkenvale) won Magnificent 7 – No.1 Investor Relations Management Office of the Year.

Some of the other individual awards included Melissa Starkey, FN Surfers Paradise, who took home the award for Magnificent 7 – No.1 Investor Relations Manager of the Year, while Sonya Scott, FN Property Solutions (Palm Beach), was awarded Magnificent 7 – No.1 Business Development Manager of the Year.

Queensland State Chairman, Neil Coupland, said conditions had been good across Queensland.

‘Throughout last year, we saw house prices lift steadily, but as we moved through the year, affordability became a bigger issue and this made it harder to get buyers across the line,”  Mr Coupland said.

“For our property managers, tight supply remained the order of the day and that put real pressure on them and their clients, making managing that relationship one of the toughest jobs in the country. 

“Despite these obstacles, our people throughout Queensland showed real resilience and adaptability, rising above these challenges to achieve outstanding results, while delivering exceptional service to our customers.”

At the South Australia and Northern Territory Awards, First National O’Donoghues was announced as the Magnificent 7 – No.1 Sales Office of the Year and Magnificent 7 – No.1 Investor Relations Management Office of the Year.

At the top of the individual awards was Karlie Ridley, from FN Lewis Prior (Warradale, SA), who took home Magnificent 7 – No.1 Business Development Manager of the Year.

Along with Nathan Janda, FN Salisbury (SA) who took home Magnificent 7 – No.1 Investor Relations Manager of the Year and Mitchell Halpin, FN Broken Hill (NSW), who achieved Magnificent 7 – No.1 Salesperson of the Year.

First National O’Donoghues Managing Director, Jeremy O’Donoghue, said the award came as a surprise, but it was a great reward for the team’s hard work.

“We’re very pleased to have won the award and it’s a great reflection on the sales team and the efforts that they’ve been putting in here in Darwin in a fairly tough marketplace,” Mr O’Donoghue said.

“We’ve been working really hard and doing the right things by our clients.

“A lot of our business is repeat business and referral business, which is great and we’ve been focused on delivering the best results we can in a reasonable period of time and making sure we get the client the best result we can.”

Mr O’Donoghue said the team was extremely close-knit and that camaraderie fuelled the level of service they delivered.

“Our sales team, while only small, will meet regularly and visit individual properties together and talk about strategies and try to find the best way we can to get the best result that is available in the current market,” he said.

Mr O’Donoghue said the support of First National had been crucial to their success.

“First National is a great brand and they offer great service and support, which we are lucky to have,” he said.

At the NSW GEM Awards, First National Byron Bay won Magnificent 7 – No.1 Sales Office of the Year, for a fourth consecutive year, while First National Waters & Carpenter won Magnificent 7 – No.1 Investor Relations Management Office of the Year.

At the top of the individual awards was Ozgur Emeli, of FN Waters & Carpenter (Auburn), who took home Magnificent 7 – No.1 Investor Relations Manager of the Year; Michelle Hesse of FN Hills Direct (The Ponds), who won Magnificent 7 – No.1 Business Development Manager of the Year, and Su Reynolds of FN Byron Bay, who achieved Magnificent 7 – No.1 Salesperson of the Year.

New South Wales Chair, David Doherty, said it gave him great pleasure to extend his warmest congratulations to all the First National agents who were honoured with a General Excellence and Marketing Award.

“Your hard work and perseverance have truly paid off, and your colleagues are proud of your outstanding achievements.”

At the Victorian and Tasmanian GEM Awards, First National Charles L. King & Co (Echuca) was thrilled to be announced Magnificent 7 – No.1 Sales Office of the Year (for second consecutive year) and First National Hall & Partners (Dandenong) was declared Magnificent 7 – No.1 Investor Relations Management Office of the Year, for the fourth year in a row.

Topping the individual awards was Jackie Lyons, FN Hall & Partners (Dandenong), who took home Magnificent 7 – No.1 Investor Relations Manager of the Year; Stephanie Millard, FN Bonnici & Associates (Wodonga) who won Magnificent 7 – No.1 Business Development Manager of the Year, and Ethan He, FN JXRE (Clayton), who achieved Magnificent 7 – No.1 Salesperson of the Year.

Victorian and Tasmania State Chairman, Rob Westwood, said the winners had worked hard for their success and healthy competition has reaped improved results.

“I particularly acknowledge our top award winners but also those who have received recognition for their work in our communities, for achieving a remarkable first year in sales or property management, and of course the people working in our administrations without whom we couldn’t succeed,” he said.

At Western Australia’s GEM Awards, FN Genesis (Mt. Hawthorn) was declared winner of the Magnificent 7 – No.1 Sales Office of the Year, and FN Hedland (Port Hedland) won Magnificent 7 – No.1 Investor Relations Management Office of the Year, for the seventh consecutive year.
