Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke will have his knee injury assessed ahead of his side’s trip to Burnley on Sunday.

Solanke was a surprise absentee from Bournemouth’s squad for their 1-0 home loss against Championship leaders Leicester City in Tuesday’s FA Cup fifth-round tie.

The 26-year-old had featured in all but one of Bournemouth’s matches this season — missing only the FA Cup third-round win over Queens Park Rangers — before the Leicester game.

“Dom wasn’t feeling well in his knee,” Iraola said after Bournemouth’s cup exit. “We have to assess him and we hope it’s not something big and he can help us this weekend.”

Solanke has enjoyed the best Premier League scoring season of his career, registering 14 goals in 25 appearances under Iraola, who replaced Gary O’Neil at the start of the campaign.

The English striker has started all 25 of Bournemouth’s league matches and the club moved to bring in forward reinforcements in January, with Enes Unal joining on loan from Getafe with an option to buy.

Unal made his first Bournemouth start against Leicester, having previously made three substitute appearances in the Premier League, but had to be withdrawn at half-time due to injury.

“Enes has gone to the hospital because he felt something in the clavicle,” Iraola added. “We have to see if it’s something worse but I think it will be more difficult to have Enes for the weekend.”
