The Washington Commanders are hiring Kliff Kingsbury as the team’s offensive coordinator, league and team sources told The Athletic on Sunday. Kingsbury withdrew his name from consideration from the Las Vegas Raiders’ offensive coordinator opening late Friday night after contract talks broke down, according to league sources.
Kingsbury, 44, had a 28-37-1 record as head coach of the Arizona Cardinals from 2019 to 2022. He worked as a senior offensive analyst for USC last season.
Kingsbury is the first major hire under new Washington coach Dan Quinn and general manager Adam Peters. The Commanders have the No. 2 pick in the NFL Draft and six selections in the top 102.
This will be updated.
