Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) on Thursday became the latest Democrat member of Congress to offer a level of sympathy and understanding for the man who assassinated UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

Luigi Mangione, the man accused in Thompson’s murder, has exploded in popularity since his identity as the prime suspect was disclosed. Much in the same way Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was paraded around like a rock star.

And left-leaning women are shockingly sympathizing with him.

Ocasio-Cortez, speaking to reporters in front of the Capitol in Washington, D.C., explained that she has some level of understanding into the mindset of the killer.

“This collective American experience, which is so twisted to have in the wealthiest nation in the world, all of that pain that people have experienced, is being concentrated on this event,” the devout Socialist explained. “It’s really important that we take a step back.”

“This is not to say that an act of violence is justified, but I think for anyone who is confused or shocked or appalled, they need to understand that people interpret and feel and experience denied claims as an act of violence against them.”

My wife has Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). In short, it is a lifelong version of the disease. We have heavily navigated the healthcare system. Had claims denied. Paid for life-saving medications in the thousands of dollars, waiting for the system to approve the prescription and make it more affordable.

And yet, I gotta tell ya … we never once thought we should go shoot somebody.

“People go homeless over the financial devastation of a diagnosis that doesn’t get addressed or the amount that they’re going to have to cover with a surprise bill and things like that,” AOC continued to justify. “We kind of talk about how systems are violent in this country in this passive way. Our privatized healthcare system is like that for a huge amount of Americans.”

On the contrary, Ocasio-Cortez is not passive in discussing the U.S. healthcare system. She described it as “barbarism” in a podcast with Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) just a few months ago.

“The fact that people are choosing between medicine and rent is barbarism,” she said at the time, and continued:

The fact that people are worried about whether they will be on the street every four weeks is barbarism. The fact that every time a person has an ache or a pain in their body, and they’re scared that it could either be just a sore joint or cancer, but they can’t find out because they can’t afford the doctor.

AOC vowed to fight that system, which some people know as ‘Obamacare.’

“I refuse to submit myself to that future,” she said. “That’s not a life. And so, to live, we have to fight for each other.”

Ocasio-Cortez isn’t the first Democrat woman in Congress to issue an eye-popping statement regarding the execution of the UnitedHealthcare CEO.

Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) also came to the unhinged conclusion that murder should be quantified with the word ‘but.’

Elizabeth Warren Goes Off the Rails With Vile Comment About Shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO

Warren stated:

Violence is never the answer, but people can be pushed only so far. This is a warning that if you push people hard enough, they lose faith in the ability of their government to make change, lose faith in the ability of the people who are providing the health care to make change, and start to take matters into their own hands in ways that will ultimately be a threat to everyone.

I wonder if that reasoning would work with the protesters on January 6th. Violence is never the answer … but some people lost faith in the elections so … *shoulder shrug*.
