Alabama football secured two Class of 2025 commitments less than 24 hours after it wrapped spring practice on Saturday with its annual A-Day game. The Crimson Tide added pledges from three-star wide receiver Lotzeir Brooks on Saturday evening, then four-star linebacker Jaedon Harmon on Sunday afternoon.

Brooks hails from Millville, N.J., where he holds South Jersey high school records in receiving yards (3,355) and touchdowns (51) before playing his senior season. On the defensive side, Harmon recorded 80 tackles, eight tackles for loss and five sacks last season at Rome (Ga.) High School. With their commitments, Alabama’s 2025 class is up to 10 commits, eight of which have come within the last six weeks. The class sat at No. 8 in 247Sports Composite rankings prior to Harmon’s announcement.

What does Brooks’ commitment mean for Alabama?

Brooks camped at Alabama last summer and was on the radar of Nick Saban’s staff. His recruitment continued when Kalen DeBoer took over.

Alabama is getting a playmaker who can excel in its new offensive scheme that prioritizes the quick pass game and putting players in space. What Brooks lacks in size he makes up for in speed, having clocked in at 22.1 mph last season. His combination of short area quickness and run-after-catch instincts are an ideal fit in the screen and quick pass game that will be a staple under DeBoer.

Within the 2025 class, Brooks is the only definite receiver prospect at the moment, but he surely will not be the last. Wide receiver is a priority for new position coach JaMarcus Shephard, who needs to build out his position group and replenish its numbers following attrition over the last several years.

What does Harmon’s commitment mean for Alabama?

Harmon is one of the fastest rising recruits in the 2025 cycle, earning offers from Florida State, Ohio State, Oregon and more within the first few months of this year. Alabama offered Harmon in March and immediately made him a priority; Harmon has visited three times within the last month. Harmon primarily plays outside linebacker for his high school team, and he has displayed an ability to play the pass (three pass breakups, one interception) and rush the passer, those prerequisite skills make him a strong candidate for inside backer as well.

No position has been recruited harder than linebacker. Defensive coordinator Kane Wommack and outside linebacker coach Christian Robinson are aggressively targeting players, and the message about the new scheme is resonating. Harmon is the fifth linebacker in Alabama’s 2025 class.
