TRENDING STORIES:

The police chase began on Jan. 8 around midnight when an officer ran the license plate of a red Mercedes and saw the active warrants for Baker, the owner of the car, according to police documents. The officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the driver did not stop.

The chase happened southbound on Dixie Highway and continued onto eastbound SR-122 before going north on IR-75. According to the police report, the driver and the officers following reached speeds near 130 miles per hour.

Passengers began throwing items out of the car, police say, but officers were unable to find anything when they checked later.

Officers ended the chase, leaving the driver and any passengers outstanding, according to police.

Baker’s warrants for arrest include a failure to appear for aggravated possession of drugs, forgery, and receiving stolen property.
