Ray White Nundah enters a new era as Benson Spong steps into the role of principal, taking over from long-time owners Anthony and Andrea Clark.
The Announcement:
Benson Spong has taken over the reins at Ray White Nundah, bringing a fresh wave of energy and ambition to the local real estate scene.
Mr Spong steps into his new role as principal after a 14 year journey in the real estate industry.
“I started as a salesperson and became an auctioneer early on. I spent years in corporate roles, where I served as an auctioneer and trainer,” Mr Spong said.
“In 2021, I was recruited into Ray White Aspley by Robert Green, who brought me up from the Gold Coast to Brisbane.”
Mr Spong’s expertise also extends to his time as head of performance at Ray White Queensland corporate, a role that accelerated his ambitions to lead his own office.
While many options were available to him, Mr Spong’s choice to stay with Ray White was fueled by the strength of the brand and the support behind it.
“There is no other group I would consider doing this with. Brian White talks about the brand being a springboard for everyone, and that’s exactly how I feel,” he said.
“The resources, brand awareness, and the team give you a foundation to get ahead. It’s unparalleled.”
As for the local area of Nundah, he couldn’t be more passionate about the growth and opportunity.
“Nundah is such a vibrant suburb,” he said.
“It’s the connection to the northside of Brisbane. You have the community feel of mums, dads, and families, and at the same time, it’s a growing market with new developments, great infrastructure, and employment opportunities.”
Surrounded by prestigious suburbs like Ascot and Clayfield, Nundah remains more attainable while offering a mix of luxury and family-friendly housing.
“One of the things I love most is watching the locals reap the rewards of this growing area. The market confidence is enormous, and you see it with the constant submission of new development applications,” he said.
For the past 12 years, Anthony and Andrea Clark have been the driving force behind Ray White Nundah, with Anthony becoming a well-known and respected figure in the local community.
Anthony will continue as a key player in the business, staying on as a salesperson.
Mr Spong is particularly excited about the community partnerships in the works, saying, “We’re working closely with the Nundah Community Centre to get ingrained in the local scene, making sure people know we’re here and ready for business.”
With recruitment as a key focus, Mr Spong’s goal is to attract the right people who will become market leaders.
“I’m passionate about watching my team grow, using my background in performance, management, auctioneering, and training to add value to what they do,” he said.
“In the next 12 months, I see us building a strong, successful business that’s truly part of the community.”
Ray White Queensland CEO Jason Andrew said that he was absolutely thrilled to see Benson becoming a Ray White principal, and that he has already left an indelible mark on the group as a whole.
“As Benson makes the move from our corporate team to Nundah, the local market can expect a blend of expertise, innovation, and community engagement that is set to shape the future of real estate in the area,” Mr Andrew said.
