CNN is an endless spring of simping for leftist causes. This election is no different. We know that, but what happened a few days ago on CNN was peak simping. My buddy Streiff wrote about a struggle session on CNN that ended with PTSD and gnashing of teeth over a joke.
A Republican named Ryan Girdusky was in on the session, likely so the panel could yell at him and for him to respond with “Thank you, ma’am, may have another!” Streiff wrote:
The panel, headed by Abby Phillip, who is another of the leftist borg that comprises CNN’s on-air staff, featured Hamas simp Mehdi Hasan, who “resigned” from MSNBC after his show, the eponymous “Mehdi Hasan Show” was canceled; see MSNBC Cancels Pro-Hamas Host Mehdi Hasan’s Show. That show was always in MSNBC’s ratings cellar, but after October 7, Hasan used it as a platform to soft sell and sanitize the genocidal terrorism of Hamas. In my view, the show was canceled at least as much for its pro-terrorism and antisemitic subject material as it was for being a ratings dumpster fire. It also featured conservative pundit Ryan James Girdusky, founder of the 1776 Project PAC.
Hasan weighed in:
In fact, you should give a raise to the producer who had to do that super cut, that they had to sit through all of that. You didn’t even get through all the clips. There was still Tucker Carlson doing replacement. Don Jr. did replacement. And then Trump himself turned up and talked about invading and occupying our country, which is the language of the far right. He talked about enemy of the people, which is Joseph Goebbels. He talked about the enemy within, which is literally Hitler. I mean, these are the — my problem is, I get it, which nobody wants to be called Nazis. It’s very inflammatory. But if you don’t want to be called Nazis, stop doing it…
Mehdi Hasan isn’t just an apologist for Palestinians; he’s done his best to be a rabid apologist and proselytizer for Islam. What do you mean, Jim? You can’t be the judge – but if a Christian pastor said similar things, I can guarantee that pastor wouldn’t have been a host on MSNBC or a guest on CNN. Ever.
Just watch this super-cut, and you’ll get my point.

Girdusky made a joke about beepers and the entire CNN panel set their hair on fire over it. One thing you cannot do is make a quip about Islam or its adherents. At least not on CNN, or MSNBC.
You can make a pointed, direct allegation at Republicans being literal Nazis, but leave those jokes about Hezbollah beepers on the cutting room floor.
Ben Shapiro had this to say about the dustup:

Okay. Number one, that’s a joke. Whereas what Mehdi Hassan is saying about Ryan Girdusky is not a joke.
He calls him a Nazi. Ryan Girdusky responds with a little quip about him being a member of Hezbollah. Well, maybe the reason that mistake might be made is because Mehdi Hasan has overtly supported every single opponent of the state of Israel in the history of the state of Israel.
He pretends that he’s anti groups like Hamas, but then spends all day, every day talking about the predations of Israel and why what Israel is doing in the Gaza Strip is a genocide and all this kind of stuff. That’s Mehdi Hasan’s bag. My friend Douglas Murray has had debates with him about this sort of stuff, obviously.
Remember that CNN banned Clay Travis for saying… ‘boobs’ on CNN.
Nazis, yes. Boobs? You’re out!
