Angel Reese is balling big time, and not because of her WNBA salary. In a recent Instagram Live, reuploaded by a fan account on X (formerly Twitter), the 22-year-old pro basketball player jokingly admits that she’s “living beyond [her] means.” Reese revealed that she pays $8,000 a month to rent her luxury Chicago high-rise, which would price the rising star out of the residence if not for her many endorsement deals, given her WNBA salary was reported as $73,439 for her debut season with Chicago Sky. Reese, the seventh overall pick from Louisiana State University in this year’s WNBA draft, is projected to make $74,909 next season per the WNBA’s current collective bargaining agreement. “I just hope y’all know the WNBA don’t pay my bills at all,” she says in the clip.

In a follow up post, Reese appeared to confirm that most of her earnings come from her lucrative endorsements, brand deals, and ventures outside of the WNBA, thanks in part to her rapidly-growing social media presence. The Chicago Sky forward currently boasts 4.4 million followers on Instagram and 4.6 million on TikTok. As one of the league’s top players, she’s worked with big-name brands including Reese’s, Beats by Dre, Coach, and Raising Cane’s. She earned around $1.7 million from sponsorships in 2022 and 2023 alone, per USA Today—more than enough to cover her apartment costs.

Reese’s loft-style apartment in Chicago’s South Loop neighborhood offers views of the city’s skyline and Lake Michigan. The building comes with a slew of top-notch amenities, per Realtor.com, including a gym with pilates and spin studios, a squash court, a full-size boxing ring, and a golf simulator. It also houses an indoor pool outfitted with steam rooms and saunas as well as a spa. A number of lounge areas are spread throughout the space. The property’s outdoor amenities include another pool, a terrace, and a basketball court for off-duty practice.

Reese frequently offers glimpses of her corner unit on social media. Recent posts reveal floor-to-ceiling windows, hints of pink decor, a walk-in closet, and a sleek white sofa.
