West Ham United will be without midfielder Lucas Paqueta for three to four weeks after the Brazilian suffered an ankle injury in training.
As reported by The Athletic, the 27-year-old was withdrawn from a session on Tuesday with his injury to be assessed.
Paqueta posted a story on his Instagram account of his right foot and ankle in a protective boot on Wednesday.
His absence will be a blow to Graham Potter, for whom Paqueta has been performing well, playing in five of the six matches since the head coach’s appointment last month.
Being out for three to four weeks means Paqueta may not return until after the international break, with matches against Arsenal on Saturday, Leicester City, Newcastle United and Everton coming in the next month.
West Ham are 16th in the Premier League table with 27 points from 25 games and are 10 points above the relegation places.
