Watford have accepted an offer from Rennes for midfielder Yaser Asprilla.
A fee of £25million plus add-ons has been negotiated between the Championship club and their Ligue 1 counterparts.
Personal terms are yet to be agreed with the 20-year-old now back in the UK considering the move.
Watford and Rennes have been approached for comment.
A number of clubs have been tracking Asprilla’s progress since arriving at Watford in January 2022 from Envigado, Colombia.
He has been away from the club following his participation with Colombia at Copa America in the United States.
Asprilla made one substitute appearance in the group-stage victory over Costa Rica. He was an unused substitute in the final defeat to Argentina.
While Watford want to build around him, it is acknowledged that a pathway to a bigger club may be difficult to turn down for the player and will prove beneficial for the reputation of the club for future prospects they seek to sign.
Asprilla has scored seven goals and provided 10 assists in 86 appearances since arriving from Envigado in his homeland in January 2022.
