What a difference from Joe Biden. While occupying the Oval Office for four years, Biden seemed largely missing in action and then when he did speak, incoherent.

President Donald Trump has probably said more to the media in this first week than Biden said in all that time. Unlike most politicians, he isn’t holding back and he’s saying exactly what’s on his mind.

On Friday, Trump went to North Carolina and California to address the problems in both places with the disaster response. As we reported, he destroyed Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass during a briefing with officials in the Pacific Palisades, urging her to let people in to clear their properties already. She said they were able to, but that wasn’t true, as he pointed out.

But Trump wasn’t done there. He also lit up Rep. Brad Sherman (D-CA)  over the problem with insurance companies and how many had pulled out of California, which Sherman acknowledged.

Trump got applause for that criticism.

Trump also decimated the Democrats over the water failure in response to the wildfires.

Brad, we’re the party of common sense. You’re not, in all fairness. We like water to put out fires. It’s really quite efficient,” Trump said, skewering the Democrats. That’s the problem. They can talk, talk, talk, about caring for the people, but they have to do the job on just basic things like providing proper services to protect the community. They’ve failed here, and now there are a lot of people suffering as a result. You can be circumspect or you can get to the heart of the problems, really try to address them and solve them. That’s what Trump is doing here.

What’s funny was one of the other Democrats’ reaction after he just laid them out like that. The unidentified man on the panel smiled a bit in response and just seemed to sort of concede; he really couldn’t respond, and just said, “Thank you, Mr. President.” Hard to argue with such a force of nature.

But one thing Trump made clear in both North Carolina and in California — the problems are going to be addressed and people were going to get help. He’s pledging big changes to FEMA to make it work, so we don’t continue to have the problems we saw in response to Hurricane Helene.

What a huge difference from Joe Biden.
