While Kamala Harris was prattling nonsensically on “60 Minutes,” Florida governor Ron DeSantis appeared on Sean Hannity’s Fox News show Monday night to talk about the efforts that are underway to prepare Florida and its residents for Hurricane Milton. The storm looks to be a beast, and a furious DeSantis had obviously had it with Kamala Harris and her “blundering” attempts to politicize the storm.

RedState’s Sister Toldjah reported earlier Monday that Kamala had the gall to politicize hurricane relief and prep efforts being undertaken in Florida and other hurricane-ravaged states. She had Ron DeSantis specifically in her sights because he allegedly didn’t take her phone call; according the Florida governor, Kamala Harris has never once called him during her nearly four years as vice president.

Here’s what Kamala said:

“Moments of crisis, if nothing else, should really be the moment that anyone who calls themselves a leader says they’re going to put politics aside and put the people first. People are in desperate need of support right now and playing political games with this moment in these crisis situations, these are the height of emergency situations, it’s just utterly irresponsible and it is selfish.”

Ron DeSantis didn’t pick this fight, but he sure as heck was going to finish it. He scoffed at Kamala’s attempts to “blunder” her way into hurricane efforts and declared that the sitting VP, who has never lifted a finger to help in the past, has no role in the preparations for Hurricane Milton.

In the Monday interview, Hannity and DeSantis discussed the preparations being undertaken in Florida to ready the state for the monstrous Milton. This isn’t DeSantis’ first major hurricane, so he knows what he’s doing here. As he told Hannity, “We’ve been laser-focused on leveraging all resources available, including from the federal government, and I’ve been in touch with both FEMA and the president, as well as marshaling all of our state agencies, and working to support our local communities.”

And what about Kamala?

“And so for Kamala Harris to say the my sole focus on the people of Florida is somehow selfish is delusional. She has no role in this. In fact, she has been vice president for three and a half years; I’ve dealt with a number of storms during this administration and she has never contributed anything to these efforts. And so what I think is selfish is her trying to blunder into this.”

When asked by Hannity if Kamala have ever called him before, DeSantis answered with an emphatic “No!” He continued, “And here’s the thing, she has no role in this process. I’m in contact with the president of the United States. I’m in contact with the FEMA director. Obviously, managing all our state agencies. We’re supporting all our local governments.”

DeSantis made it clear the Kamala is neither needed nor wanted:

“And I will say this, I’ve had storms under both President Trump and President Biden, and I’ve worked well with both of them. She’s the first one who’s trying to politicize the storm, and she’s doing that just because of her campaign. She’s trying to get some kind of an edge, she knows she doing poorly, and so she’s playing these political games. I don’t have time for political games. I’ve got people whose lives are on the line.”

Then, he got to the heart of the matter:

“Why is she putting her campaign above the wellbeing of the people of Florida?”

DeSantis knows why. We all know why. Kamala Harris, AKA “Slowbama,” is an empty pantsuit who has absolutely no political or policy gravitas, so she goes on the attack. Picking a fight with DeSantis is downright stupid and desperate, as he exhibits the kind of leadership she can only dream about.

Here’s the entire Hannity interview:

God bless Ron DeSantis. The people of Florida are lucky to have him.
