Things are getting spicy in the Texas Senate race, where Democrat Colin Allred is looking to unseat Republican Ted Cruz. Democrats have been trying for years to turn Texas blue, and Ted Cruz stands in their way every six years. Cruz is a favorite target of the left because he is an outspoken and stalwart supporter of freedom — he drives them insane, and it’s fun to watch.
Allred is in his third term in Congress, representing Texas’s 32nd Congressional District. During his time in DC, he joined fellow leftists and voted against the Protection of Women and Girls Act of 2023, which would have strengthened Title IX protections and ensured a “level playing field” for women’s and girls’ sports. A hard-hitting new ad from the pro-Cruz Truth and Courage PAC asks: What kind of man does that?
🚨NEW AD🚨
Colin Allred could have stopped men from competing in girls’ sports, but instead he voted against our daughters and stood with the radical left.
What kind of man does that? Colin Allred is too extreme for Texas. pic.twitter.com/MlwC2RKTOL

Here’s the transcript of the ad:
Texas girls are tough, resilient and strong. But, now, they’re facing an opponent they can’t beat by digging deeper or trying harder. Colin Allred claims to stand for the women of Texas, but he voted against the Protection of Women and Girls Act of 2023. He stood with woke progressives and radical Democrats, not our daughters. What kind of man does that?
The words in the ad get the point across, but it’s the visuals that really pack a wallop: Young women are enjoying a game of flag football, when one of them gets tackled — and presumably injured — by a big dude cosplaying as a woman. And there stands a man in an “Allred” shirt, watching the entire thing with approval. You can’t really argue the point; if you vote against protections for women in sports, as Colin Allred did, then you approve of the harm that’s sure to follow.
What’s particularly egregious about Allred’s support for men in women’s sports is that he himself was an athlete, playing basketball, baseball, and football in high school, even going on to earn a football scholarship at Baylor University. Colin Allred was more than happy to reap the benefits of playing his sport at a high level, but has no problem denying those opportunities to women who hope to do the same in their sport.
What kind of man does that? A real man doesn’t, but Colin Allred does.
Allred’s team was apoplectic about the ad:
“This is a disgusting, false attack, and another example of how Ted Cruz only wants to divide Texans,” Allred campaign spokesperson Josh Stewart told Fox News Digital.
“He’ll say anything to distract from his dangerous abortion ban that is putting women’s lives at risk, trying to raise the retirement age for Social Security and Medicare and fleeing to Cancun during a deadly winter storm.”
Abortion. Yadda, yadda, yadda. As if Colin Allred cares a whit about women’s lives being at risk; he demonstrably does not.
As RedState reported yesterday, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, which is currently spending $0 in the Ohio senate race, has decided to commit resources to the races in Texas and Florida, hoping to pick off Cruz and Rick Scott. They are serious about flipping those states blue, with one Republican strategist remarking, “But Republicans should not take the threat of losing this state lightly. As the Republican Party makes a play for blue states, Democrats are going to start making a play for red states… to hold these seats, Republicans will have to stay disciplined on messaging and prioritize candidate recruitment.” Protecting women and girls is a winning message.
The new ad is part of a $3 million ad buy by the Truth and Courage PAC, and will blanket the airwaves across Texas.
