Ex-comedian turned TDS-riddled activist Jimmy Kimmel on Thursday’s episode of ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” shared his theory about why President Donald Trump continues to call for the elimination of the Department of Education (ED). Yes, it was unintentional comedy gold; but TDS ravages the minds of those so afflicted.
Kimmel began by first “reporting” that Trump “today, set in motion his plan [by] directing his new Secretary of Education, Linda McMahon, the one from wrestling, that’s right, WWE co-founder Linda McMahon, [to] supervise the important work of dismantling the Department of Education.”
The former funnyman then launched into a predictable attack against Trump, as he trotted out his silly theory (emphasis, mine):
Good for him, though. Another genius tactical move. I’ll tell you why. He keeps getting attacked by all these smart people, so what does he do? He outlaws smart. There will be no more smart.
Cute. Kimmel continued to wax idiotic:
Of course, it’s also a win for Linda McMahon. The less educated we are, the more likely we are to believe that wrestling is real. It’s interesting how this will work. An executive order to close the department would likely require 60 votes in the Senate.
Republicans only have 53 seats in the Senate, so they won’t get that, but they will be able to bleed the department out. Their plan, they say, is to turn control over education to the states. In other words: bad news, Mississippi, your kids aren’t going to be able to spell “Mississippi” anymore.
Good move, Jimbo. Attack a red state because their residents are, in your smug, elitist view, too stupid to spell their own state’s name. Why, Hillary “basket of deplorables” Clinton and Joe “garbage” Biden would be proud of you, my boy!
But, hey we almost need to give poor Jimbo a break. I mean he literally broke into tears on his silly show the night after Trump’s decisive win in November, bless his heart.

OK that’s enough about Kimmel’s silliness — what about the Department of Education?
Trump most recently said he wants his new Education chief, Linda McMahon, to “put herself out of a job” and close the department.
McMahon was confirmed by the Senate on Monday, and an executive order to shutter the department could come as soon as this week. McMahon told employees it was the department’s “final mission” to eliminate bureaucratic bloat and turn over the agency’s authority to the states.
While eliminating the department altogether wouldn’t be easy, including the fact it would take 60 votes in the Senate while the Republicans hold only 53 seats, the administration has started overhauling much of the department’s work.
Critics of the ED argue that the federal government doesn’t have the constitutional authority to regulate public education, and thus, states — and even parents — should make decisions about the education of their respective students.
Of course Democrats only care about constitutional authority and the powers of the federal government when they can use — or twist — either or both to fit their various narratives.

Finally, not to nitpick or point fingers, but I doubt that Trump, or anyone, could even intentionally try to dumb down education in America; the leftists have intentionally done it for decades — and they are desperate to continue doing so.
