If you tuned into the 2008 Olympics, you saw Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page playing ‘Whole Lotta Love’ with Leona Lewis. If you tuned into the 2024 Olympics, you got a parade of drag queens mocking the Last Supper.

No, I’m not kidding. That was the scene on Friday as France held the opening ceremony for the summer games. In one instance, a bearded man in a low-cut woman’s outfit twerked and crawled around the stage in the rain.
I realize that polite society doesn’t allow one to criticize stuff like this anymore, but I’m going to go ahead and risk being shouted down by pointing out how ridiculous this is. This is the Olympics, not some back-alley Vegas showroom. What exactly does the above performance have to do with countries competing in various sports? Does nothing matter anymore? Must everything be inundated with woke insanity?
That’s a rhetorical question, of course. Sure enough, at the conclusion of the drag show, the performers lined up and mocked Christians by re-enacting the Last Supper.
Remember, you aren’t allowed to point out how ridiculous this all is lest you not be “tolerant,” but they are allowed to mock everything you hold dear, and that’s really the purpose of all this. Normalcy must be shunned while degeneracy must be elevated. That is the way of the modern world. To mock traditional values is to be “brave” while upholding them is to be a bigot.
Of course, you’d never see such a performance used to mock anything to do with Islam or any other religion. Only denigrating Christianity is allowed. Heck, it’s more than allowed. It’s celebrated and given a primetime slot (in Europe) at the Olympics.
I guess I shouldn’t be surprised, though. This is France we are talking about. Facing a chance to return to some semblance of political sanity in July, the voters there chose to put a coalition of socialists and communists back in charge. Some people just don’t want to be saved. Signaling left-wing virtue rules all, and the results have been predictable.

I know that I’m increasingly in the minority on this front, but that’s not going to change my desire to speak the truth. It’s okay for normal people to say this kind of stuff is gross. If that earns scorn, then so be it.
