Hawk Newsome, who has been described as a co-founder of Black Lives Matter of Greater New York, explicitly called for vigilante violence following news of the acquittal of Marine veteran and subway hero Daniel Penny.
Penny was found not guilty of negligent homicide in the death of Jordan Neely following a malicious prosecution by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.
Penny had subdued Neely on a New York City subway train in May, restraining a man with a long rap sheet who had been threatening passengers until police and first responders could arrive.
Neely, who had been breathing when Penny released the hold, later died. Penny was found not guilty of negligent homicide in Monday’s verdict after jurors told the court Friday morning they couldn’t reach an agreement on the top charge of second-degree manslaughter. That charge was dismissed.
Newsome was livid over the jury’s right and just decision.
Hawk Newsome, founder of BLM of Greater NY, calls on “black vigilantes” to respond to the Penny verdict by choking and killing white people.

“We need some black vigilantes,” an angry and almost frothing Newsome declared.
“People want to jump up and choke us and kill us for being loud,” he continued while an unidentified woman shouted and affirmed his viewpoint. “How about we do the same when they attempt to oppress us?”
Newsome also reportedly issued a thinly veiled threat to Penny in the courtroom, shouting, “It’s a small f**king world, buddy.”

Newsome spent much of the leadup to the jury verdict making asinine comments about Penny being associated with the KKK and suggesting jurors were “white supremacists.”
“The KKK got another victory,” Newsome said after the judge in the case dropped the top charge of manslaughter, a move that RedState’s Bob Hoge explained was a highly dubious maneuver designed to actually pressure a conviction on the lesser charge.
“Logically, if you pick a white supremacist jury specialist, and you pack a jury with white people, obviously you think race has a specific role in this case, and obviously you are looking for that one white supremacist hold out,” Newsome said illogically.

This is, and always has been, Hawk’s shtick. In 2021, he threatened incoming New York City Mayor Eric Adams with riots, arson, and “bloodshed” if he dared return the city to its former status of being tough on crime.
“If he (Mayor Adams) thinks that they’re going to go back to the old ways of policing, then we are going to take to the streets again,” Newsome said at the time. “There will be riots, there will be fire, and there will be bloodshed because we believe in defending our people.”
Now he’s upped the ante, literally insinuating that black people should murder white people as some retribution for a criminal who was heroically stopped by Penny.
