It appears that singer Victoria Monét has moved on following her recent breakup from John Gaines.
Monét, 35, was spotted packing on the PDA with British rapper Stormzy (real name Michael Ebenezer Kwadjo Omari Owuo Jr.) at London Heathrow Airport on Friday, October 11, according to photos obtained by The Sun. In the photos, Monét and Stormzy, 31, were seen kissing and hugging outside the terminal.
Neither musician has addressed their relationship status. Us Weekly has reached out for comment.
Weeks earlier, Monét confirmed that she split from Gaines, 33, around 10 months ago.
“With good intentions, we honestly have been avoiding a formal statement about something as natural and personal as love,” the Grammy winner and Gaines wrote via X on September 23. “We originally preferred to keep this out of the public (as announcing this publicly is sure to make pain resurface) but it is becoming more and more difficult to suppress.”
She added, “Yes, we’ve seen all of the questions and extremely false accusations of our origin story and we thought long and hard about whether or not we owed it to anyone to explain where we are as we heal, since we understand how social media can magnify the truth or run far with untruths.”
Monét and Gaines went public with their romance in February 2020, one year before welcoming daughter Hazel. They are now trying to amicably coparent the 3-year-old.
“Though we still completely adore and respect each other, we are not a couple anymore,” their statement stated. “There was no infidelity, toxic behavior or drama. We both just have some fundamental growing to do that would best be done apart so we can remain the best versions of ourselves for our daughter. It simply didn’t work out and that’s OK.”
They continued, “We still think the world of each other and operate with love in every interaction for our family. We have an incredible daughter to raise for life and that is undoubtedly our No. 1 priority forever. No relationship status can remove or replace that fact. We are committed to doing the inner work and trust that God will place us both where we belong in due time.”
Stormzy, for his part, was last in a relationship with Love Island UK host Maya Jama. After an on-and-off romance, they officially called it quits this summer.
“We spent five years growing together and then five years growing separately, so this final attempt required a whole lot of figuring out, relearning, and unlearning,” Stormzy and Jama, 30, captioned a joint Instagram Story statement in July. “We tried, and it didn’t work, and that’s OK. We still think the absolute world of each other, we still care and respect each other, we are still grateful for the time we’ve had together and we are still friends and will always be friends.”
