Simultaneously grounded and bold, Encore, a subdued navy, has been designated Valspar’s 2025 Color of the Year. Nearly all of Valspar’s interior, exterior, cabinet, furniture, and metal and concrete paint and stain formulas can be tinted in this cool, deep blue shade. Take it to monochrome extents, or pair it with Valspar’s complementary palette, including Moroccan Resort, Moonglow, and Blueberry Ice.

Jane Howard and Jane McCall, longtime friends who met in the English countryside, were so taken by the 20th-century Bloomsbury set’s quirky approach to design that they founded the lighting brand Bloomsbury Revisited. Initially, McCall’s hand-painted lampshades were an ode to Charleston, the modernist East Sussex farmhouse frequented by Virgina Woolf and E.M. Forster, among other writers. But Bloomsbury Revisited’s latest slew of designs is more expansive, with nods to medieval frescoes, Greek ceramics, Marc Chagall, and Pablo Picasso. Look for autumnal oaks flaunting acorns, a still life of pears set on a rustic checkered tablecloth, and a swirling underwater fantasy of pink, cream, and green corals, amongst urchins and seaweed.
