PSV Eindhoven full-back and USMNT international Sergino Dest has returned to playing after an 11-month injury layoff.
Dest, who has been capped 33 times for his country, had not played since suffering an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in April before coming on as a 69th-minute substitute in Saturday’s Eredivisie match against Heerenveen.
The 24-year-old suffered his ACL injury during a training session for his club side and has missed almost a year of action, including last summer’s Copa America.

Dest scored two goals across 37 appearances for PSV last season, where he was on loan from Barcelona.
Despite his injury, the Dutch club signed Dest from Barca as a free agent on a four-year contract last summer.
Dest joined Barcelona in 2020 from Ajax, where he began his senior career. He made 51 league appearances for Barca in his first two seasons before spending the 2022-23 season on loan at Milan.
