USMNT midfielder Johnny Cardoso has signed a contract extension at Real Betis through to 2030.
Cardoso, who was born in New Jersey to Brazilian parents and has been capped 18 times by the U.S., has added a further 12 months onto his existing contract at the Seville-based club.
The 23-year-old joined Betis from Brazilian side Internacional in December 2023 and has made 44 appearances for the club, scoring two goals.

The Athletic reported in December that as part of the negotiations with Real Betis over selling Giovani Lo Celso last summer, Spurs included a clause relating to Cardoso. Spurs had a first refusal option on the central midfielder but this would only become active in the summer.
Betis say that the clause is unaffected by Cardoso’s new terms.
Cardoso has made 15 La Liga appearances this season for Betis, who are 10th in the standings and are next in action away to Celta Vigo on Saturday.
