Good morning and welcome along to Day 8 at the 2024 US Open and, more specifically, to The Athletic’s live coverage.

We are officially into the second week of the final Grand Slam of the year after a pulsating first week of unbridled drama at Flushing Meadows.

The second half of the fourth round action takes place today after yet another brilliant day at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center yesterday.

Plenty of time until the players take to the court, though, so stick with us for all the build up throughout the morning.
