Louisiana-Monroe offensive line coach Cam Blankenship will face internal discipline after he shoved a ULM player during Saturday’s game against Marshall.

In a clip from the game, an irate Blankenship ran onto the field, screamed and slammed his headset. Offensive lineman Drew Hutchinson ran off the field, as it was apparent he wasn’t supposed to be out there. Blankenship followed him to the sideline and shoved Hutchinson before another player stepped in.

“In Saturday’s game at Marshall, assistant coach Cameron Blankenship made physical contact with a ULM student-athlete on the sideline. This behavior is unacceptable and not how ULM football conducts business,” ULM said in a statement.

“There will be disciplinary action taken against the assistant coach. Because this is a personnel matter, the discipline will be handled internally.”

Blankenship is in his first season on ULM’s staff. Marshall won the game 28-23.
