Tottenham Hotspur winger Bryan Gil has joined Girona on a season-long loan deal for the 2024-25 season.
Gil, who has been capped four times by Spain, was left out of Tottenham’s pre-season tour to Japan to help him secure a move.
Spurs signed Gil from Sevilla for £21million (€24.8m current exchange rate) in 2021 but he has struggled to establish himself as a first-team regular.
The Spaniard has made just 31 appearances since his move to north London, including two starts in the Premier League.
The 23-year-old’s most recent appearance for the club came as a substitute in the 2-0 defeat to Chelsea in February.
He returned to Sevilla on a sixth-month loan deal in January 2023 having spent the first half of 2021-22 campaign at Valencia.

Gil remained at Spurs for the entirety of last season but made just 12 appearances and now joins Girona, who will play in this season’s Champions League for the first time in their history.
Gil will bid to fill the hole left by Savinho, who contributed nine goals and 10 assists during his loan spell from Troyes in 2023-24 as Girona finished third to secure European football.
Savinho’s performances have since earned him a move to Girona’s sister club Manchester City, in a deal worth up to €40million (£33.7m; $43.7m).
