Remember Tim Walz? It may seem like it’s been an eternity, but less than four months ago, many thought he was on a glidepath to becoming Vice President of the United States. Boy, did Americans dodge that bullet.

Best known for calling JD Vance “weird” in the greatest act of projection in human history, Walz is back in Minnesota, reprising his role as one of worst governors in the country. As RedState reported, that includes acting like a hysterical lunatic, with Walz being caught on tape claiming that the country is being “stolen” by “fascists and nazis.”

“You see the nonsense that’s being put forward on that. We’re going to need your voice there, because I would just end with this. And we’re seeing it in these town halls. That charismatic leader is not going to come there,” the Minnesota governor rambled.

“You know I see the pundits on TV — ‘What’s wrong with the Democratic Party?'” he added. “What’s wrong is our country’s being stole(n) by fascists and Nazis and we’re trying to do all we can to try and do it.”

Walz is the kind of guy who thinks his words are far more profound than they are, and it shows in his delivery. What is he even talking about? Which “facists and nazis” are stealing the country, and in what way? I have to assume he’s talking about the Trump administration, which would mean he believes a majority of American voters supporter nazism. That’s quite the claim.

When Walz was pressed on the matter by a reporter and asked if he’d like to apologize, he melted down.

WALZ: They’re asking me to apologize because of that?

REPORTER: You were talking about politicians in Washington, the politics in Washington.

WALZ: No, I’m talking about the people who are openly nazis.

REPORTER: In that audio clip, it sounded like you were talking about in Washington, and when Scott Jensen made similar comments about COVID restrictions…(inaudible)

WALZ: Look, we have folks marching in the streets. We have a woman in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho pulled out by a militia. I’m talking to a group of supporters and saying what’s going on right now is that we have people who are openly nazis and fascists trying to take our country, and we need to push back. This has been the last ten days, Washington Post, New York Times talking about these folks in Ohio. So, no, I’m not going to apologize. The question is, why are they not condemning them? Why are they not condemning these people who are in Ohio doing these things to do us so no…

He sure likes to ramble, doesn’t he? What you’re seeing there is a man who has no idea how to respond when the press does its job and asks him tough questions. You can almost see the offense on his face, gobsmacked that a reporter would dare hold him to account for his words. Walz got used to a fawning, subservient media while he ran on Kamala Harris’ presidential ticket, but now that he’s become one of the goats of the election, the gloves have slipped off just a bit.

What’s so bad about Walz, though, is that he’s such a coward. At least be a man and stand by your words. Instead, he offers an explanation that is clearly not true. In his original comments, the context of his “fascists and nazis” remark was Republican politicians holding town halls. I would also assume his derogatory mention of a “charismatic leader” not showing up was talking about Donald Trump.

The idea that he was talking about some random nazis in Ohio (or Idaho? I don’t know if that was a misspeak or not) doesn’t add up. None of those people are stealing anything. They hold zero political power or influence. None of their preferred policies are being implemented. They are irrelevant, and Walz is simply lying by claiming that’s who he was talking about.

REPORTER: So you’re not talking about Donald Trump and Republicans in Washington?

WALZ: No, I’m talking about these people who were there. Now, if they have tendencies of to not say anything, I am asking those people in Washington why are they not condemning this? Why is the DOJ not condemning these people who are doing that? So this is the story that people are asking about as we watch the federal government step on all our rights, as we watch them go through the Social Security administration, as we watch them do all this, this is their focus. Be better, be better.

REPORTER: You went after Scott Jensen for almost the very same thing…

WALZ: Be better…

REPORTEr: Asking him to apologize…

WALZ: Were there open nazis marching? Who was he talking about? I don’t even remember…

REPORTER: He was talking about your COVID-19 restrictions and likending them to the rise of nazi Germany.

WALZ: Yeah, that is apples to elephants!

Democrats used to pull this nonsense with Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) all the time. If he wasn’t out there 24 hours a day condemning every random idiot who stood on a sidewalk with a swastika, he was accused of tacitly supporting nazism. It was a garbage allegation then, and it remains one today. There is nothing for the DOJ to do regarding bad people exercising their First Amendment rights because nothing illegal is happening. Are they supposed to put out a letter of condemnation every time communists speak, too? Or does that not count in Walz’s eyes?

“Be better,” he demands while doing the very things he has criticized others for. Walz is a political lightweight, and it still astonishes me that Harris was stupid enough to pick him over Gov. Josh Shapiro (D-PA). I guess it shouldn’t, given what we know about the former vice president’s capabilities as a politician.
