The left was throwing fits on Wednesday as President-elect Donald Trump announced more appointments in his new administration.
They were throwing fits over Trump naming Pete Hegseth for Secretary of Defense. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) got handed her head when she claimed he was “unqualified”; many schooled her on Hegseth’s 20+ year career in the military. Jim Acosta and Joy Reid also flipped out over Hegseth, but also failed to tell people about Hegseth’s military background. So much for any claim to be journalists by those two.

But the nomination that truly set some people off was Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) for Attorney General.
That had Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) losing his mind and saying Gaetz had to be rejected.
First the Supreme Court granted a president immunity for weaponizing the Justice Department.
Now Donald Trump wants to appoint Matt Gaetz as AG?
Confirming him would mean affirming the worst potential abuses of DOJ.
He must be rejected by the Senate.

Gaetz has already resigned his seat in the House, which was a surprise. But that could allow Florida to fill the seat by Jan. 3, House Speaker Mike Johnson said.

But our sister site Twitchy reported on what has to be one of the most interesting responses on the selection of Gaetz for Attorney General, a response that is likely to drive Democrats absolutely bonkers.
It comes from Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY). Massie was asked if he thought Gaetz would be confirmed by the Senate.
GOP Massie says “recess appointments” when asked if GAETZ can get confirmed by the Senate

Massie responded, “Doesn’t need to — recess! He’s the Attorney General! Suck it up!”
During the Senate leadership race which Sen. John Thune (R-SD) won, Thune promised to allow recess appointments. That could avoid needing Senate approval.
Recess appointments have been used in the past.
[A]ccording to the Congressional Research Service, former President Barack Obama made 32 recess appointments, Bill Clinton made 139 recess appointments, and George W. Bush made 171 recess appointments.
So we’ll have to see how it all spools out.
But I think it’s safe to say the nomination is having folks on the left throwing fits right now. They do not like being out of power and outmaneuvered.
