There are two ways to do things: Alvin Bragg’s way and the right way.

And when I say, “Alvin Bragg,” I don’t just mean him, I mean all the Soros-backed soft-on-crime, criminal-coddling prosecutors who have turned many of our major cities into virtual battle zones. Places where people like Daniel Penny are forced to take action just to protect their fellow citizens. Places where criminals are quickly freed while those who fight back sit in court facing prison time.

We’ve reported on how the jury in the Penny trial deadlocked on the second-degree manslaughter charge Friday and how Manhattan District Attorney Bragg’s office pulled some highly questionable maneuvers and convinced the judge to drop that count altogether. Jurors will begin deliberating Monday on the second count, negligent homicide, which carries a maximum sentence of four years.

But at least some in positions of power are getting it right, and one of them is Rep. Eli Crane (R-AZ), who is planning to introduce a resolution to award Daniel Penny the Congressional Gold Medal, Congress’ highest civilian honor.

“Daniel Penny’s actions exemplify what it means to stand against the grain to do right in a world that rewards moral cowardice,” said Crane, a retired Navy SEAL.

“Our system of ‘justice’ is fiercely corrupt, allowing degenerates to steamroll our laws and our sense of security, while punishing the righteous. Mr. Penny bravely stood in the gap to defy this corrupt system and protect his fellow Americans. I’m immensely proud to introduce this resolution to award him with the Congressional Gold Medal to recognize his heroism.”

An account called “Tom Homan – Border Czar News,” which has 256K followers but is not an official account of the tough-talking Trump nominee, summed it up nicely:

Daniel Penny is and will always be a hero.

The text of Crane’s resolution perfectly sums up just how preposterous—and divisive—this case is:

“Throughout President Biden’s term as President, local governments across various cities and States failed to adequately protect residents and their property from violent criminals,” reads the legislative text, previewed by Fox News Digital.

“Daniel Penny, with others, acted to save New York City subway riders from threatening behavior by restraining a criminal – who had 42 prior arrests and an active warrant – until the police came. The courageous actions taken in response to the threat to his community by Daniel Penny, a decorated U.S. Marine Corps veteran, went beyond the civilian call of duty.”

How much support this resolution will get in Congress is anyone’s guess, but I hope it gets plenty because the sentiments expressed are powerful. This case has been profoundly disturbing since Day One, and it highlights the excesses of the progressive movement and just how damaging Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, George Soros, and their merry gang have been to American society.

The times are changing, as we saw with the November election results, where millions of Americans rejected the dystopian vision of the Democrats. We’ll have a new leader in charge come January 20, but in the meantime, let’s not forget his words after a deranged lunatic tried to kill him: “Fight fight fight!”
