Casa Andrea is located in Nerano, Italy, just a few steps from the crystal-clear waters of the Mediterranean, on the beautiful Amalfi Coast. The area is one of the most enchanting parts of southern Italy with picturesque villages and wild and scrubby stretches bordering the sea. It is here that architect and designer Raffaella del Giudice was able to reimagine a small apartment. The home may be only 431 square feet but it boasts spectacular views. Making the most of this strength, the architect transformed the home into a haven of serenity and beauty, where every detail was designed to enhance the enchanting setting and offer a unique experience for those staying in the seaside home.

The design of this project “was guided by a desire to create a harmonious dialogue between the interior and the exterior,” explains architect and designer Raffaella del Giudice, who reimagined this small apartment.

Surrounded by greenery and so close to the sea that you can hear the sound of the surf, Casa Andrea was conceived as a place to rediscover the joys of living well. The design of this small beach home in Nerano is focused on bridging indoor and outdoor spaces, while allowing the sparking light and the lapping of the waves of the sea to take leading roles. It’s an intimate and cozy retreat, where materials like wood and stone blend harmoniously with the colors of the earth and the sea, all adding up to a warm and welcoming environment. In addition, the custom furnishings, made by local artisans, are a tribute to the area’s craft traditions but combined with a contemporary touch that makes them truly unique.
