Host of Fox News “Special Report” Bret Baier finally snagged that interview with Vice President and selected Democrat nominee Kamala Harris. Harris was campaigning in Washington Crossing, PA and was proud of the former Republicans and Trump administration people who took the stage with her and happy with their endorsement, delighted in their support of her as a presidential candidate.

The entire interview was a train wreck, but there were particular moments that were exceptionally cringeworthy, damaging, and proved with glaring certainty why she is unfit to lead.

Baier started off with the topic of illegal immigration, and you could visibly see Harris deflate like a balloon before the first question was asked.

WATCH:

Immediately Harris tried to filibuster Baier and do this interview’s version of “I’m speaking.” Harris brought up the U.S. Citizenship Act of 2021, which she claimed addressed the flaws in the asylum system with more judges, 15 million more border agents, increased penalties, stemming the flow of fentanyl, shore up entry points, and how she has worked toward bipartisan efforts to strengthen the border.

Baier gently pushed back with documented facts, and Harris briefly got that deer in headlights look she gets when she is desperately trying to find her talking points. Then she jumped on her supposed record as California Attorney General (not her current position as VP) as proof that she knew how to handle this crisis. Failing to understand that the fact that a crisis exists is proof that you have no ability to correct it.

But the most purely evil and damning part of this topic of illegal immigration was the fact that Harris could not even form the words to apologize for allowing criminals into the country that resulted in the senseless deaths of Laken Riley, Jocelyn Nungaray, and Rachel Morin.

WATCH:

BAIER: Former president Clinton actually referred to Laken Riley Sunday, campaigning for you in Georgia, saying, “If those men had been properly vetted, Laken Riley probably would not have been killed.”

So, it wouldn’t have happened. This is well before any negotiation. This is well before Donald Trump got involved in the politics. This is a specific policy decision by your administration to release these men into the country.

So what I’m saying to you is…

HARRIS: No, no –

BAIER: Do you owe those families –

HARRIS: I think it’s really – I think –

BAIER:  — An apology?

Harris immediately devolved into her typical word salad, and frankly, this was her most terrible look. Someone who constantly claims she is a champion for women who wants to protect their “reproductive freedom.” How about protecting their lives? What about protecting them from being assaulted by men who should have never been in the country? Where is her fight for this?

HARRIS: Let me just say first of all, those are tragic cases. There’s no question about that. There is no question about that. And I can’t imagine the pain that the families of those victims have experienced, for a loss that should not have occurred. So that is true. It is also true that if a border security [bill] had actually been passed nine months ago, it would be nine months that we would have had more border agents at the border, more support for the folks who are working around the clock trying to hold it all together

BAIER: Madam Vice President –

HARRIS: — to ensure that no future harm would occur. And this election in 20 days will determine whether we have a President of the United States who actually cares more about fixing a problem even if it is not to their political advantage in an election, because there was a solution, Bret.

BAIER: Madam Vice President, it was a policy decision in the early part of  your administration. I will let one of the mothers talk about it. Take a listen.

[Nungary’s mother speaks about Alternatives to Detention Program]

BAIER: That’s the early days. So do you owe them an apology, is what I’m saying?

Harris finally gets to acknowledging the horror that she wrought upon these victims and their family. But she never uttered an actual apology. Instead, she chose to blame the lack of a border security bill and of course, Trump.

HARRIS: I will tell you that I am so sorry for her loss. I am so sorry for her loss. Sincerely. But let’s talk about what is happening right now with an individual who does not want to participate in solutions. Let’s talk about that as well, Bret —

BAIER: But do you want to answer the —

HARRIS: — in all fairness – I told you, I feel awful for what she and her family have experienced.

Harris’ face said it all. She looked like a cornered rat. This is shameful for anyone, but especially for someone who wants to be the leader of the free world.

There is so much more that can be unpacked from this exchange, but the last moment that let us know Harris was cooked was when Baier asked her when did she first know that Biden had cognitive issues.

WATCH:

BAIER: When did you first notice?

Harris does the “darting eye” thing indicating that she needed to find a lie.

HARRIS: Joe Biden is not on the ballot. Donald Trump is on the ballot.

BAIER: You met with him once a week for three years. Did you have any concerns?

It completely devolves from there.

Here is my final assessment. You are running for the President of the United States. You are expected to protect and defend the Constitution and provide guidance, support, and leadership for the American people. Your defense or rebuttal cannot be, “But, but, Trump!!!!”

It’s completely deranged. And after her outrage and offense didn’t play, that is exactly how she appeared.

Baier revealed during the panel segment that Harris actually showed up 15 minutes LATE to their interview, which set the stage of everyone feeling rushed. When she started to filibuster, hedge, and do her word salad delivery, it only added more fuel to the dumpster fire of this interview.

The Trump campaign was rapid in its response.

Checkmate. If this doesn’t kill her campaign, I don’t know what will.
