After winning $1.75 million on the 2023 season of The Block, Steph and Gian Ottavio have sold their Bexley home for a tidy profit.

The couple bought the Glenfarne St home in early 2020 for $1.02 million, and have recently sold it for $1.825 million.

The property, according to realestate.com.au, also helped the score their place on the hit renovation TV show, with the pair filming their audition tape as they renovated the Bexley home.

Located between the couple’s parents homes in Carss Park and Stanmore, when they bought the hom it was a two-bedroom, one-bathroom house on a 348sq m block.

Steph, an architect, set about redesigning the home, including demolishing the back of the house.

The new design included turning the living and dining rooms into a main bedroom with an ensuite.

They then built a Scandinavian-inspired rear extension, with the kitchen, living and dining spaces in an open-plan layout.

The kitchen featured a Rosa Zarci marble bench, while vaulted ceilings and skylights filled the spaces with natural light.

Burnished concrete flooring added a raw edge to the design and large sliding glass doors connected the home to the courtyard.

Ray White Sunbury directors, Aaron Hill and Marin Durkovic, and agents Chelsea Kleeven and Sharn Bayes, sold the house, in conjunction with auctioneer Tom Panos.

“Steph and Gian’s ‘Japandi’ house was the clear stand out this year, and the couple’s hard work and design prowess were fully on display,” Mr Hill said after the sale.

Since the show, the couple have launched a homewares brand – a collection inspired by the Japandi (Japanese and Scandinavian) aesthetic.
