Your signature fragrance is a deeply personal preference. The right scent has the power to uplift and inspire confidence; it can also reinforce memories of the past that you hold dear. (No wonder some folks keep the name of their favorite eau de toilette under lock and key.) As the New Year begins, why not consider switching up your scent? We’ve put together a running list of our favorite perfumes released in 2024—all of which will surely inspire and, more importantly, make a positive first impression, expressing your mood and personality before you even utter a hello to whoever is in the room.

Guerlain Patchouli Paris Eau de Parfum

Celebrate fall with Guerlain’s new Patchouli Paris fragrance. This tasteful brew has a rich, inviting warmth, opening with vanilla then seamlessly transitioning to a complex patchouli musk. The result is sophisticated, and perfect for those who crave a scent with a noble air.

Hermès Barénia Eau de Parfum

Hermès Barénia is a warm, floral scent that pays homage to the prized Barénia leather used in Hermès’s renowned saddles and handbags. The perfume features delicate, powdery iris paired with sweet butterfly lily and miracle berry. As it develops, the patchouli note takes over, leaving a lasting, memorable trail. The bottle, designed by Philip Mouquet, nods to Hermès’s Collier de Chien bracelet from the Roaring Twenties, celebrating the bold, liberated spirit of women from that era.

Balmain Beauty Rouge Eau de Parfum

Balmain’s newest fragrance crafted by creative director Olivier Rouesteing has a pleasing yet understated character—with substance. It’s more of a creamy incantation, striking a delicate balance between floral and woody notes, offering just a whisper of fragrance rather than a bold statement. With hints of lily and georgywood (a note that is very close to amber), Rouge provides a gentle touch for those who appreciate a nuanced, non-intrusive scent.

Chanel Gabrielle L’Eau Eau de Toilette

Think of an idyllic afternoon in a dreamy French garden, then bottle it. You’ll have Gabrielle L’eau by Chanel, a fragrance on the lighter side that contains charming floral essences along with sweet berry notes, underlined by a gentle hint of musk. The perfume is not overbearing, and perfect for when you want to spritz a more gentle scent.

Cartier Le Panthère Elixir

Crafted by renowned in-house perfumer Mathilde Laurent, Le Panthère Elixir by Cartier is a sublime tribute to the elegance of the panther, reflecting the feline’s graceful poise and presence. This perfume intertwines the delicate notes of gardenia, apricot, and velvety peach osmanthus, creating an ultra-feminine scent that blends seamlessly from day to night, and one that we will be reaching for all year long.

Diptyque Lilyphéa Les Essences Eau de Parfum

Lilyphéa invites you to imagine the gentle sound of water droplets trickling beneath the lush foliage of a pristine, verdant pond, capturing the essence of Monet’s water lilies and vibrant greenery. This new fragrance from Diptyque, part of the brand’s Les Essences de Diptyque collection, features delicate notes of galbanum and violet, offering a serene, almost watercolor-like experience when you breathe in the scent.

Bulgari Le Gemme Sahare Eau de Parfum

This is the perfect fragrance for a romantic dinner date. The note compositions are a beautiful tribute to damask rose, melded marvelously by perfumer Yann Vasnier. Blending fresh rose with spicy amber and warm wood nuances, it’s ideal for those meaningful, late nights.

27 87 Sónar Perfumes Eau de Parfum

We loved this new scent for its distinctive and very attractive notes, which come together seamlessly. Sónar is not overly sweet, because the gorgeous tuberose here is tastefully mixed with sweetness thanks to the beer and burnt rubber accords, citrusy bergamot, saffron, and a metallic wood element.

Hourglass XX Eau de Parfum

Attention, sandalwood connoisseurs—put Hourglass’s latest fragrance on your list. Here, aromatic wood combines with soft bouquets of honeysuckle, orange blossom, freesia, and pink pepper. Cedarwood provides a grounding base, keeping the scent full with end notes that give it an unmistakable sweater-weather vibe. This is a limited-edition perfume, with only 1,500 bottles made (you can purchase a flacon at Hourglass and Barneys New York’s pop-up store event.) The scent is free from parabens, phthalates, and sulfates, and is fully vegan and cruelty-free.

Veronique Gabai Dèlices des Bois

If you love jasmine notes but are craving more of a fall vibe, this is a charming blend to consider. Dèlices des Bois is made of aromatic neroli, sage, fig, and cedar. But the most impressive complement to the jasmine is sandalwood—an element that can sometimes go too heavy, but definitely not in this case.

Aerin Amber Musk Santal

This is an opulent and subtle fall fragrance in one. Delicate florals are sheathed within the creamy warmth of coconut, which softens the often intense, resinous quality of the sandalwood base, making it more effeminate.

Dolce & Gabbana Devotion Eau de Parfum Intense

This is a lovely gift idea for anyone who’s into fragrances that make a grand entrance. Devotion Intense is the bolder sibling of the original Devotion, swapping out citrus for a decadent hazelnut twist. With its cozy orange blossom and vanilla notes, it’s like a warm embrace perfect for brisk autumn days.

Parfums de Marly Palatine Eau de Parfum

Here’s an intense floral with fruity undertones, which will resonate with those who love bolder notes in their fragrances. The standout notes consist of a melodic trifecta of cheery mandarin, creamy sandalwood, and powdery violet.

Oscar de la Renta New York Eau de Parfum

Simple and pleasant, New York is a straightforward rose scent with a sweeter edge and subtle powdery undertones. This fragrance works well with most body chemistries, with an unobtrusive, classic profile.

Vintner’s Daughter Understory Vol. 2 Limited-Edition Perfume Oil

Each note dances in perfect, hypnotic harmony here. Vintner’s Daughter has created the most whimsical blend of violet, jasmine, and rose; violet leaf, gentle notes of conifers, and bay also dance with the brew. Meanwhile, a grounding base of moss gives this oil-perfume understated smoothness.

Liis Of True Minds Eau de Parfum

This sophisticated autumnal creation, inspired by Shakespeare’s Sonnet 116, is enshrouded in opulent patchouli, aromatic nutmeg, and sumptuous suede. It delivers a rich and refined olfactory experience that lingers on the skin with an air of quiet luxury.

Tory Burch Sublime Eau de Parfum

A warm and serenely woody scent that features mandarin, osmanthus, rose, and vetiver, Tory Burch’s Sublime is comforting and effortlessly sexy on the skin. It’s a beautiful way to bring the enticing scents of fall into your fragrance repertoire.

Ellis Brooklyn Dear Sky Eau de Parfum

This fragrance may seem like it’s all about sweetness at first, but has an unexpected, sophisticated charm. The airy profile contains a medley of luscious honeydew melon (again, mild and not cloying), aromatic strawberry leaf, and an enticing combination of tuberose and pink pepper. All of the ingredients evolve the fragrance into a beautifully balanced and grown-up scent.

Kindred Black Fleurs Sauvages Perfume Oil

Once more, earth-conscious perfume brand Kindred Black has impressed us with their latest limited-edition flower oil, Fleurs Sauvages Perfume Oil. Using a heavenly combination of unique florals from the Susquehanna Valley, the fusion melds together Dame’s rocket, Canadian white violet, musk mallow, milkweed, bush honeysuckle, and chamomile with a warm, fragrant, and inviting scent. This latest scent is a rhapsodic musk which has us feeling one step closer to nature with each application.

Gucci The Heart of Leo Eau de Parfum

Warm but stylishly brewed, Gucci’s newest drop from its Alchemist collection is downright impeccable. Drawing you in with just the right amount of spice, this scent creates a velvety sensation with each note. The blend features the comforting essence of earthy myrrh essential oil as its base note, complemented by an herbal incense and invigorating blackcurrant at the dominant forefront of notes.

Loewe Paula’s Ibiza Cosmic Eau de Parfum

Coachella, anyone? There’s endless versatility in this newest Loewe launch—a frolicking, sweet scent imbued with warm notes of cedarwood, sandalwood, and a fragrant, earthy Spanish rockrose. The genderless perfume is a fabulous choice all year, especially for festive and fun outdoor moments.

Perfumehead LA LA Love Extrait de Parfum

This spectacular blend of aromas is a tribute to Los Angeles. For me personally, it conjures up images of unforgettable evenings at the Chateau Marmont, brimming with laughter and mischief. The warm vanilla with fruity overtones are deep, but still remain a soothing scent that contains rich essences of warm cognac, spicy nutmeg, and sultry amber.

Tom Ford Oud Wood Eau de Parfum Fragrance

Prepare to be enamored. The new Tom Ford Oud Wood is a hypnotic reimagining of the classic scent, this time intertwined with a richer blend of concentrated patchouli and luxurious woods, along with tantalizing notes of cardamom, vanilla, tonka beans, and subtle whispers of amber. The scent is genderless and wild—and will surely please those who love the fuller spectrum of scents.

Dior Miss Dior Parfum by Francis Kurkdjian

Dior’s scents are always timeless, with an unparalleled sense of chicness. The maison has unveiled its most unforgettable fragrance to date with this reinvention of the classic Miss Dior. In collaboration with the esteemed perfumer, Francis Kurkdjian, this opulent scent embodies floral refinement, meticulously crafted with the essence of jasmine, and very subtly complemented by hints of mandarin.

Louis Vuitton A Perfume Atlas Fragrance Set

This new release will thrill any perfume collector. A Perfume Atlas is an exclusive, limited-edition fragrance collection compiled by Vuitton’s in-house perfumer, Jacques Cavallier Belletrud. The set takes 45 olfactory essences from across the globe and neatly presents them in one box along with an accompanying book delving into the formulations and inspirations of each scent. There are also details on their essences, like cinnamon from Sri Lanka, iris from Italy, vetiver from Haiti, and star anise from China. Layer the various scents—or let them shine on their own.

Cartier Les Bases à Parfumer

Here’s an opportunity to personally craft a signature fragrance that speaks uniquely to you. Les Bases à Parfumer is Cartier’s latest luxury fragrance line, which includes a neutral oil and a cream—both blank canvases you can tailor to your heart’s desire. There are four gorgeous Cartier scents to layer and play with: La Panthère, Oud & Santal, l’Heure Diaphane, and Pure Rose. Each one is a blend of perfume concentrate and peregrina oil giving you total control over how strong or how nuanced you want your signature scent to be.

Dolce & Gabbana Q Eau de Parfum

For anyone seeking a deeper, fruitier, and more intense fragrance this season, look no further than this revamped version of the original that just came out from D&G. This reformulated iteration still retains the refreshing Sicilian lemon top note while introducing a luscious blend of dark cherry and heliotrope at its heart, all wrapped in an amber accord base.

Mugler Alien Hypersense Eau de Parfum

For those who appreciate a touch of intensity in their signature scent, this is an excellent choice that transitions from day to night seamlessly. The vibrant green mandarin with juicy pear is jovial and full of flair; Mugler’s signature floral note, jasmine sambac, elevates the fragrance with a lovely touch of playfulness.

Valentino Donna Born in Roma Green Stravaganza

If you loved Audrey Hepburn’s ultra-elegant vibe in Roman Holiday, you’ll definitely want to give Valentino’s latest fragrance a go. We think it’s perfect to wear on a brisk spring evening—when you want to add a little something smoky and sultry to enhance your ensemble. This fragrance features a savory blend of lapsang souchong tea accord merged with amber accords and a subtle hint of jasmine absolute.

Beautycounter Sun Spill Clean Eau de Parfum

I find myself feeling uplifted every time I catch a whiff of this fragrance. Beautycounter, a pioneer of clean beauty, has artfully captured the essence of summer in a bottle, with the right amount of sophisticated poise. One of four new scents from the line, Sun Spill is ripe with powdery variations of grapefruit, neroli, vetiver, and rose petals, along with a cedarwood oil base that adds depth without overwhelming heaviness.

L’Eau D’Issey Solar Violet Eau de Toilette Intense

If you’re seeking a serene scent experience, consider exploring Solar Violet. This is a gentle perfume that combines the finest Egyptian violet absolute with hints of juicy pear and iris. It’s a clean and refreshing option for spring that lasts nicely throughout the day.

Noteworthy Scents n,768 Golden Reign

The inspiration here is drawn from bees. This crisp, sweet scent blends the essences of honey, jasmine, and vanilla. It has the range, and is perfect for leisurely vacations on the hillsides of Tuscany—or, more likely, summer office hours.

Future Society Optimal Habitat Fragrance Primer

This is a must-have for discerning perfume lovers. Future Society’s new spray is not a perfume—it’s actually a fragrance enhancer that keeps your favorite scent lasting longer on your skin. The primer utilizes a plethora of biotech ingredients to create the ideal pH level for the fragrance, ensuring its longevity. Spray the lightweight gel-serum on the spots you usually apply perfume, allow it to dry for 30 seconds, then apply your desired scent.

Phlur Strawberry Letter Fragrance

You will certainly feel the presence of spring in this fabulous new Phlur scent, which captures the essence of strawberry paired with a really pleasing secondary fusion of nectar plum. An added bonus: not only does it smell fantastic, but the composition is also responsibly sourced and sustainably packaged.

Creed Queen of Silk Eau de Parfum

Just in time for the warmer months ahead, this is the perfect addition to complement some glam floral frocks. Creed’s latest debuting scent, Queen of Silk, brims with layers of delicate saffron, intoxicating tuberose, and crisp cedarwood. One spray lingers for an impressively long time, showing itself throughout the day.

Jean Paul Gaultier Scandal Absolu Parfum

Jean Paul Gaultier has put a new spin on one of his most classic fragrances: Scandal, whose latest iteration is called Scandal Absolu. Here, tuberose is softened by black fig and sandalwood—the signature Scandal scent.

Narciso Rodriguez For Her Musc Nude Eau de Parfum

This fragrance doles out a subtle, musky aroma that delicately envelops the skin, exuding a comforting warmth. Ideal musky scent enthusiasts seeking a lighter option that gently melds with the skin will love this one.

Tom Ford Vanille Fatale

This revamped rendition of the 2017 classic exudes a sultry charm; it will surely captivate those who appreciate layered fragrances. The vanilla base makes a beeline for a smokier route, merging with rich blends of the narcissus and frangipani flowers. Oak moss, coriander, and saffron give the brew some serious flavor.

Loewe Solo Vulcan Eau de Parfum

Loewe’s latest creation is a remarkable scent, one which elevates a perfume by way of distinctive uniqueness. The fusion of heavenly herbal botanicals like thyme and lavender intertwine tastefully with the warm and rich aromas of orange flower absolute.

Hermès Oud Alezan Eau de Parfum

If velvet had a sweet, luxurious scent, this latest creation from Hermès would be it. An ode to equestrian lifestyle, understated opulence is met with a refreshing yet occasionally smoky undertone in Oud Alezan. Its sweet base is elegantly balanced, and never overpowering.

Diptyque Do Son Eau de Parfum

This floral scent has been reintroduced with limited-edition packaging, much to the delight of many perfume collectors. Diptyque’s new launch contains the purest bouquet of jasmine, orange blossom, and amber-esque wood.

Parfums de Marly Perseus Eau de Parfum

For perfume enthusiasts who gravitate toward clean citrus notes but also crave a more sophisticated fragrance to carry them into the evening hours, meet Perseus. The silky vetiver zest in this scent lingers on the skin beautifully, with an attractive powder essence as well.

Loewe Agua Drop Eau de Parfum

We adore a flawless floral perfume done right. That’s why Loewe’s second-newest perfume to drop this month has made the list. Agua Drop offers a revitalizing floral experience, featuring the distinctive Loewe accord enriched with lively notes of crisp bergamot and orange flower absolute, balanced by woody and amber undertones.

Kilian Paris Sunkissed Goddess Perfume

It’s truly remarkable how many occasions are suitable for this versatile scent. Whether you’re donning your favorite sundress or dressing up in a gown for a special event, Sunkissed Goddess embodies the essence of the tropical islands. This limited-edition fragrance expertly blends tiare flower and coconut, transporting you to the lush landscapes of Polynesia, which served as inspiration for this oud. Enhanced with a subtle hint of vanilla, the new addition to the brand’s olfactive family is an exceptional travel companion for spring and summer.

YSL Beauty Black Opium Eau de Parfum Over Red

Sweet and deep, this is a harmonious perfume for its luscious cherry essence, coffee, and sweet floral notes that blend seamlessly. This scent veers on the bolder side, so approach with caution if you don’t like heavier scents.

Aerin Mediterranean Honeysuckle Tiare Eau de Parfum

A beautifully refined floral that we could not stop spraying, Aerin’s Mediterranean Honeysuckle is sophisticated and neither overly sweet nor repetitive. The tiare flower and grapefruit notes are balanced to perfection here, with just the right touch of grapefruit and lemon to add a refreshing twist.

Of the four scents recently introduced in Donna Karan’s Cashmere Collection, this fragrance is our favorite. It radiates an elegant warmth and an understated but apparent sensuality, with a blend of sparkling golden peach notes entwined with palo santo and cashmere woods.

Viktor&Rolf Flowerbomb Tiger Lily Eau de Parfum

The neroli notes merge with a perfectly measured dose of vetiver, adding an overall warmth to this genderless fragrance.

Dior New Look

This is a perfect homage to designer Christian Dior’s very first runway show in 1947, where he introduced the “New Look” silhouette: soft, rounded shoulders; a cinched waist, and a voluminous skirt—a seminal moment both for the French house and in fashion history. New Look is an aromatic masterpiece, reinvented this time by Dior Parfums creative director Francis Kurkdjian. This silky scent pairs seductive amber and frankincense, and is the ultimate luxury perfume.

Favorite Daughter Italian Summers

My favorite of the list, this is a truly spectacular and ultra-feminine scent bearing one of the most beautiful floral fusions. that can be worn day or evening for all four seasons. You can wear this hypnotic blend of freesia, vanilla, orchid, and coconut day or evening, during all four seasons. Italian Summers is one of two new scents released by Favorite Daughter (helmed by comedic writing-acting-producing-sister duo Erin and Sara Foster) this year. The clean beauty fragrance is responsibly and sustainably sourced and phthalate-, paraben-, and sulfate-free.
