Edwin Arroyave says his ex-wife Teddi Mellencamp is “beyond grateful” after undergoing brain tumor surgery.
“Our family is thankful to everybody for your continued prayers and well wishes,” Arroyave, 47, wrote via Instagram on Monday, February 17. “Teddi is beyond grateful for the outpouring of love while she continues to recover.”
He also took to his Instagram Stories to post a photo of himself with their daughter Slate, 12, as well as teenage Bella, his daughter from a previous marriage. (Teddi, 43, filed for divorce from Arroyave in November 2024. The exes also share son Cruz, 10, and daughter Dove, 4.)
“On our way to visit Mom,” Arroyave captioned the snapshot, tagging Slate and Bella.
The update comes nearly a week after Teddi publicly revealed her health battle, informing her Instagram followers that she was about to have surgery to remove multiple tumors on her brain.
“For the last several weeks I’ve been dealing with severe debilitating headaches,” the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star stated on Wednesday, February 12. “Yesterday the pain was unbearable and required hospitalization.”
Teddi explained that a CT scan and MRI detected the tumors, which doctors “believe have been growing for at least 6 months.” She noted last Wednesday that two of those tumors would be taken out in surgery that day, while the other “small tumors will be dealt with via radiation at a later date.”
She said that she was “blessed to be surrounded by my children, family, friends, doctors, nurses and surgeons who are doing everything possible to get me back into better health.” Ahead of her operation, she also shared an Instagram Story video of a friend shaving off her hair. “I’m gonna have this look on my bucket list. My best look,” Teddi quipped at the time.
Meanwhile, Arroyave was by her side along with pal Kyle Richards and country singer Morgan Wade.
On Thursday, February 13, Arroyave posted an update via Instagram Stories, revealing that the surgery “went well.” However, he added that he’d never seen his ex “in so much pain. She’s finally getting some needed rest.”
Several days later, Teddi’s sister, Justice Mellencamp, released a statement via her own Instagram Story.
“Watching a loved one suffer is horrific,” she wrote on Sunday, February 16. “I’ve tried to get back to everyone who has reached out & I know Teddi will share her journey when she is ready. She is by far the strongest person I know.”
Alongside that message, Justice, 40, shared a snap of her beside Teddi’s hospital bed where she appeared to be sleeping.
“So many emotions as I travel home today but her village is the best one I’ve ever seen and I’m so grateful for them!” Justice added.
