We reported earlier on the unbelievable news that Joe Biden was going to be giving former Wyoming representative Liz Cheney and Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MI) the nation’s second highest civilian award — the Presidential Citizens Medal — for their “work” on the Jan. 6 Committee.
Translation? Here’s your award for doing your best to bag my political opponent.
Of course, they ultimately failed in that endeavor and Donald Trump was elected on Nov. 5.

But the ceremony itself was something else. When they announced the award, the announcer intoned it was for “putting the American people over party.”

She looks really like she doesn’t want to be there. She also didn’t seem at all happy he was holding her hand, that seemed to make her frown. But she got a lot of applause from probably a mostly Democratic audience.
I wonder if she’s upset that she got this, but she hasn’t yet gotten a pardon. She was reportedly one of the people whose name was being tossed around by the Biden team for a pardon. I anticipate pardons coming for folks right at the end of Biden’s term but it remains to be seen if she gets one.
In any event, Biden got ripped to shreds over this disgraceful display. The House Administration Subcommittee on Oversight has accused her of tampering with a witness and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) was outraged that Biden gave her the award in the face of that.

Journalist Glenn Greenwald reminded everyone of how the left had demonized Cheney for years for what she stood for and now Biden was giving her an award and praising her for her “decency.”

The House Administration Subcommittee has referred the question of Cheney to the FBI, so we’ll have to see what Biden does with a pardon and if the FBI under Trump might take up the case.
But once again, Joe Biden shows he has absolutely no shame with his actions.
