If you play Wordle every day but also happen to enjoy chess, we’ve got great news for you.

Echo Chess, a game built by a company called Echo Chunk, is trying to become Wordle for Chess. No, you’re not playing Wordle but only guessing words like “QUEEN” or “CHECK.” Echo Chess is a daily puzzle where you must capture all the pieces on the board.

The company just raised $1.4 million from investors like a16z’s early stage games accelerator and some angels in gaming. Why does a chess website need capital? They want to create more puzzles using AI.

It’s been two and a half years since Wordle was acquired by the New York Times, and since then, the appetite for daily mobile games has boomed. So, if there are enough crossword lovers out there to power the gray lady, why not build for the aspiring grandmaster?
