McGrath Estate Agents’ Taney Jain has secured his second REIV Residential Sales Agent of the Year title.

Mr Jain’s win adds to his REIA award, where he was named as Australia’s top agent in 2022.

He said the win was both a surprise and a validation of his hard work over the past year.

“It was unexpected,” Mr Jain said.

“There was very strong competition from other agents, many of whom have been in the industry longer.

“Winning against them gives us confidence that our processes, systems, ethics, and the way my team operates are on the right track.”

The past year has been transformative for Mr Jain, who took a leap by establishing his own business with McGrath Estate Agents – WERRIBEE.

“The last year was the toughest roller coaster ride I’ve had in my ten-year career,” he said.

“But McGrath made the transition smooth, ensuring I could focus on clients while they handled backend support.”

He said that he couldn’t have achieved his success without his entire team which took care of all the backend operations and allowed him to focus on selling.

Mr Jain said the move to the new franchise made the win that much more special as his track record was removed from the listing portals.

“With my name and data erased from previous records, it was daunting,” he said.

“I had to rebuild everything in 11 months, and to reach number one again felt incredible.”

Looking to the future, Mr Jain is determined to keep pushing forward.

“Consistency is the goal,” he said.

“I want to keep improving and learning from my mentors.

“Tom Panos, my coach, has been instrumental, and I admire leaders like John McGrath, Gavin Rubinstein, Alex Jordan and Oliver Labors.

“Beyond my own success, I want to see my team grow and achieve their own wins.”

Mr Jain said his win should encourage others in the industry.

“If I can do it as a migrant, anyone can,” he said.

“The real estate industry is open to anyone willing to put in the work.”

McGrath founder John McGrath said it was a great win for Mr Jain.

“Winning REIV Top Salesperson for Victoria in a field of some of the best agents globally is remarkable,” Mr McGrath said.

“But to stay humble while climbing the mountain is even more impressive.

“I believe Taney’s best work is yet to come.”
