The Twitch streamer known as Hasan Piker has said many bombastic and highly controversial things, such as “America deserved 9/11” and that the rapes of innocent Israeli women on October 7 don’t matter to him in the grand scheme of Palestinian resistance.
Now he’s back with another banger, this time saying that if someone cared about Medicaid fraud, you would “kill Rick Scott.”
Listening to Speaker Mike Johnson talk about going into Medicaid and rooting out the waste and fraud, as DOGE is with almost everything in the government right now, Piker paused the video to say that the fraud isn’t coming from individuals but providers. This is where he brings up Scott, referring back to his days as CEO of Columbia/HCA from 1987 to 1997.
It was during that time that the company was a part of one of the biggest frauds in Medicaid history, paying $1.7 billion in fines in 2000 and 2002. Scott was not charged with any crime and left before the settlements, claiming he had no idea these things were happening at the time, placing the blame on his subordinates.
Now, Scott is a sitting U.S. Senator from Florida, and Piker believes he should die.
“If you cared about Medicare fraud or Medicaid fraud, you would kill Rick Scott,” Piker says. “You wouldn’t make Rick Scott — former governor of Florida, Rick Scott — you wouldn’t make him the current —”
At this point, Piker had to look up what office Scott holds because he didn’t know. He then finished off by saying he says Rick Scott should be killed over his time as Columbia/HCA’s CEO.
Hasan Piker says someone should k**l Rick Scott if they care about Medicaid fraud. He said this on Thursday and Twitch as done nothing despite it breaking TOS. pic.twitter.com/brMjQQUEIJ

Here’s the kicker: He said this on February 27, and Twitch has still done nothing about this, despite it breaking the platform’s terms of service.
Not that this should surprise anyone. Twitch applies its rules based on who is saying something, not on what is being said. The only time Twitch acts against Piker or anyone in his orbit, is when they have to in order to make it look like they’re being responsible and even-handed.
I go into detail into how much of a cesspool Twitch is in a recent YouTube video I made, which you should watch, as this is where quite a bit of the younger generation gets their news and opinion from. The problem goes way deeper than many people understand.
Piker will say some very unhinged things from time to time to no action from Twitch, which is likely why he’s now saying things like “kill Rick Scott” in the open. The question one has to ask now is, will this escalation of speech result in someone actually getting hurt?
While Twitch might not do anything to stop Piker, it’d be interesting to see if the executives at Amazon have anything to say about all this. Amazon owns Twitch, and it’s unclear if any of them have even seen what’s going on with the streaming platform as of late. Things are clearly out of control there, as Piker feels more than safe to actually advocate for the murder of sitting politicians.
