The five-bedroom, four-bathroom home, located on Tudor Road in Crystal Palace, southeast London, was used as the residence of Knightley’s character, Helen Webb, despite the show portraying it as being in Highgate, north London.
The Times reported home’s owner, Lisa Thoy, originally bought the 6,000 sq ft (557 sqm) property in 2016, falling in love with its unique character compared to the more uniform homes in nearby West Dulwich.
Unexpectedly, the house caught the attention of Netflix’s production team, leading to a four-month transformation into the home of Helen and Wallace Webb for the filming of Black Doves.

“It was fascinating,” Ms Thoy said. “Within ten days of us moving out, the house looked as though another family had lived there for 20 years.
They covered our beautiful deVOL kitchen cabinetry with faux wood panels, built a wall in the guest room to create a fake dressing room for Keira Knightley’s character, and even constructed a shed at the bottom of the garden for a key scene.”

Beyond its modern screen fame, No. 7 Tudor Road has a rich history dating back to the 19th century.
One of its early residents was William Morris, a retired surgeon, followed by his sisters and later renowned naval captain Halton Stirling Lecky.

Mr Lecky, a decorated Boer War hero and Royal Navy captain, lived at the home in the late 1930s after a distinguished military career, receiving medals for saving men in rough waters.
