Southampton have reached an agreement with Arsenal for the permanent transfer of goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale for a fee of £25million.
The next step is for the 26-year-old goalkeeper to undergo a medical with the club before completing his move.
Arsenal will now advance their efforts to sign 23-year-old Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia.

Ramsdale has fallen out of favour at Arsenal following the arrival of David Raya from Brentford last summer.
Southampton are looking to strengthen their goalkeeper ranks before the end of the transfer window. Alex McCarthy, 34, has started Southampton’s opening two league matches this season.
The Athletic previously reported that Wolverhampton Wanderers had submitted a proposal to sign Ramsdale from Arsenal.
The Molineux side made contact with their Premier League counterparts earlier this week, offering an initial loan move for Ramsdale that would include the option to buy next summer.
Bournemouth, who are working on a deal to sign goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea, were also interested in signing Ramsdale, as reported by The Athletic.
